Ridiculous
allxclubaccugx11 June 2022
Ridiculous! That was all I was going to write, but apparently one word review is not enough. Once again, Hollywood finds a way to totally ruin a series by worrying more about trying to be SJWs than quality entertainment. The Transporter is one of my favorite movie series. The TV series a few years back was also very good (I recommend that one). I was surprised they canceled it.

Now we have this, shaking my head.

Ouch!
Either watch the Jason Statham movies, or the Chris Vance series, but avoid wasting time on this. There's no talent here at all right across the whole project, in front of and behind the camera. It's hard to see what the reason for this really is, or why in a culture of cancelling excellent shows this has even got past a pilot. Amateur and laughable but not in a good way.

Ridiculous

Lets be honest, we all know why this dirge was made, no-one will watch it, it's talentless dross, let it drown in it's own diversity driven agenda. I think everyone is getting a bit fed up of all this nonsense by now.

It's so bad I thought it was a pr0n plot
fqypeters30 July 2022
I tried my best to enjoy this but it's just extremely bad.

The acting and just everything combined felt like a pr0n movie without any pr0n in it.

I really do not recommend to watch this.

Maybe when you're extremely high.

This is why not everyone can work in Hollywood

Very low budget and low talent product. This is why you should avoid anything "NOT" made Pre-Covid.

It's nice to see that rule reinforced so strongly here. I would like to say that it is so bad it's good. However, it is so bad that it steals pieces of your soul the more you watch.

Unfortunately, this is what most people would produce if they sat around their apartment getting baked and decided they wanted to make a TV series. Gather their budies (and their iPhones) and their crappy cars and start rolling.

This series would be useful to pick apart in a classroom to see how not to produce content.

This is terrible
nomoretimewasters31 May 2022
Probably one of the worst pieces of TV I've seen in the last decade. Sound quality something to be desired. The whole production is second rate. Trust me give this a miss.

Just.. wow..

Imagine if a bunch of high school kids in media studies saw the original Transporter films and then asked their friends and family to act in a school project following along the same idea.

That's what you have here.

I don't care that everyone is Black or POC (to be PC) like a lot of other negative reviews, my negative review comes from what we get as a finished project, which honestly should never have made it past the pilot episode given this was the level of production being shown.

So. so, so very bad!

So. So, so very bad! I very much looked forward to enjoying this, but started gritting my teeth at the opening title sequence. There isn't any excuse for how terrible this is. Shameful for all involved. Just go back and watch the movies instead.

Make sure you give me 5 stars

Warning: Spoilers
The film opens up with a raid and KikI (Kizra Deon) doing some kind of an aside to tell us what happened. She starts out as an Uber driver and then works her way up in 90 minutes to become the Keyser Söze of the Atlanta drug world which included the quickest round trip from Atlanta to Dallas. This is a modern Horatio Alger tale.

The film is poorly scripted and acted. The sound background noise was uneven. All the women have an unhealthy amount of body fat (except maybe the bean pole cop). I guess some guys like that sort of kink.

Guide: F-word. Oral sex. No nudity. The panties from behind was gross enough.

is there like a -1 star rating?

There's a vile sickness raging through Hollywood, destroying franchises with it's rabid Woke extremism killing off innocent entertainment with its Cancel Culture... This is no different. May as well revisit original movies from a time when entertainment was politics-free...

Well written, interesting and decently acted African American drama
Drama about a young woman who accidentally gets drawn into a life of crime. Kiki and her sister Stacey are down on their luck, when Kiki, an Uber driver suddenly gets a customer in her car who overpays her for one ride alone. He then offers her $7000 if she transports a bag from Atlanta to Texas.

Look, sure, the sound quality is very bad, but that's why they have this spanking new invention called subtitles.... I was surprised by the quality of the acting, the script and the visuals. This a no-to-low budget show, and yes, that shows.

The sound is the only thing that's actually horrendous, no argument there. But the story line, while not new, is too captivating. Especially the 2nd story line of a serial killer is clever.

Also, the acting, from the leads is up to par. Especially supporting actress Michelle Lamb stands out as upcoming drugs-Czarina.

I don't agree with their wardrobe choices, but that's part of that culture, it would be weird if they dressed like nebraska soccer moms. Like the Pope said, who are we to criticize all that? And sure, the actresses do not adhere to the boilerplate mainstream beauty norms. Then again: this is the age of body positivity. And no-one complains about Danny Devito, Jim Belushi being ugly and fat AF.

8 oth 10. Added 1 point for all the racist sexism in the other comments and another point because how far they got, working on a shoestring budget

The Melancholic Alcoholic.

Why
darkstar-520825 June 2022
I dont understand why Hollywood cant create new IP with strong POC roles instead of shoe horning a pollitical statment into a rebooted tv show.

Blade was awsome, Black Lightning was cool, Luck Cage, Black Panther and Deep space nine was also an awsom show with a black leed.

This is sadly a poor reboot of a decent franchise, we really do need new ips for black folks and not a white hand me downs, which is insulting to many of the awsom black actors.

I am waiting on season 2
cwileyjr13 June 2022
I actually like the story line even though it was low budget. You have to start somewhere and yes there were times that I was yelling at the screen because of what was going on lol. I would like to see season 2.

Epic Girls-in-Gangland saga
gooogleable1 June 2022
Aside from the obvious lack of a boom operator and absent production values on sound, this is a pretty (surprisingly?) well made mini-series about a young woman gone rogue.

Kiki, an Uber(ish) driver gets tangled up in a gangland war when a mysterious client offers her a transport job from Georgia to Texas. $7000 to drop off a bag... Seeing this as a way to save her sister from a drunk ex-boyfriend and her way out of the struggle, she takes the job, but then things go sideways.

One of the notable things about this is that the acting of virtually everyone is pretty good. The other thing is that the story line, while not unpredictable, is quite decent and moves at a fast pace. Also, direction and camera are good. And while sound is bad, everyone is clearly audible.

Worth mentioning is the whole serial killer storyline, and I really like Michelle Lamb as the amoral ruthless drugs Queen-pin.

So: acting 8 script, story 8 direction, camera 8 sound 5 music 9 ability to work on a low-budget aka the Clint Eastwood factor: 11

So, overall an 8, but given all the super-positive cheerleading other user reviews here, I've upgraded it to 9 out of ten.

If the filmmakers would have had a mere $100.000 more on their budget, I'm sure they would've turned out a true master piece. They still might. It was rather clever to give this the same name as a popular franchise, it lures people in.

WOW
elainewallace7 June 2022
So I just happen along one late night be thumbing through the TV channel and I find this TV series after the first episode I don't know if I watch another one but I did and i binge watch all episodes and I love it. It may be low budget but they kept it real I love all the actors actress the storyline. Let's just keep it real here. Adding the serial killer to it just goes on to show a part of life outside of the drug world and I love the storyline and for it to be low budget. Let me tell you everybody hair nails and wardrobe was on point would I like to see a season 2. Heck yeah. Can't stop watching now + reviews about to go up y'all I'm telling everyone to watch this.
