As Charles pulls to parking lot with his bacon and eggs Cadillac, there is a "Lada" VAZ 2100 series with blue California plates in the background. These were not in the US market due to trade sanctions against the Soviet Union. Some of these are imported from Canada and Europe as 25 year old historic vehicles, but this doesn't add up with the movie being set in the 1970's.
In the beginning of the shot where Charles runs into traffic at night while fleeing from security, there is a modern-day taxi in the distance.
Though set in the 1970s, in the car wash scene, both "Ms. Pacman" and "Galaga" video games can be seen in the background. Both were released in 1981.
During the opening scenes at several points the film crew, lighting and the director can be seen reflected in Swan's sunglasses.
As the Russian cab driver pulls up to the parking lot to meet his caviar selling buddy, the other cab has a New York type dome with medallion number 5X10 (or 5X18). However, the movie is set in Hollywood.
