In Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man, Kirsten Dunst and Tobey Maguire performed one of filmdom’s most memorable kisses. While Maguire’s Spider-Man is hanging upside down, Mary Jane removes his mask halfway to give him a “thank you” kiss in the pouring rain.
But Dunst now reveals that the moment was anything but romantic, at least for her. Speaking on ITV1’s The Jonathan Ross Show, she recalled the moment.
“I remember [the film’s director] Sam Raimi giving me a book of famous kisses to be inspired, but also he really wanted to make it special, even though it was kind of miserable actually doing it. It was pouring with rain, freezing, Tobey couldn’t breathe so it was almost like I was resuscitating him.”...

I know kids these days love the Tom Holland/Marvel Cinematic Universe version of Spider-Man, but for my money, the best big-screen take on the web-slinger remains the one from Sam Raimi's trilogy. Say what you will about Raimi's films, but those movies have style. Raimi is a great director of movement, and he really knows how to pull off fun, vibrant, comic-book-infused action scenes. His "Spider-Man" movies are big, bold, sweeping action-adventures that still hold up to this day — especially "Spider-Man 2," which might just be the best superhero movie ever made.
One of the most memorable scenes from Raimi's first "Spider-Man" film involves a moment when Spider-Man/Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) is hanging upside down in a rainy alley and shares a kiss with the girl of his dreams, Mary Jane Watson (Kirsten Dunst). It's a romantic, cinematic moment and it became instantly famous after everyone saw...

Kirsten Dunst and Tobey Maguire delivered one of the most iconic movie kisses of the 21st century in 2002’s “Spider-Man,” but it was “kind of miserable” to shoot. Dunst is the latest guest on “The Jonathan Ross Show” (via The Independent) ahead of the release of her new movie “Civil War,” and she remembered how not ideal it was to kiss Maguire in the pouring rain while he was upside down as Spider-Man.

The famous upside-down kiss between Spider-Man and Mary Jane has endured for years, and fans still can’t get over it. The scene in which Kirsten Dunst’s Mary Jane Watson kisses Tobey Maguire’s Peter Parker while he hangs upside down is unforgettable and romantic at the same time. What many fans may not realize is that filming that iconic scene wasn’t quite as idyllic as it appeared on screen.
No matter how many Spider-Man flicks have come and gone, the scene has never attempted to be replicated. Dunst played Peter’s love interest in all three of Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy films, which were released between 2002 and 2007.

The ‘Gladiator’ sequel is reportedly set to resume shooting in Malta on 4 December.Shooting on the follow-up to Ridley Scott’s historical epic was delayed during the actors strike that paralysed Hollywood, but the announcement on 8 November that their SAG-AFTRA union had reached a tentative agreement on a new three-year contract has enabled studios to move forward on several productions.Sources told Variety the filming schedule for ‘Gladiator 2’ is back on track, with Paramount Pictures due to distribute the sequel globally after an opening date of 22 November 2024. The actors strike lasted for 118 days and was resolved after studios gave the union first-ever protections for the use of artificial intelligence in film and television shows, along with a historic pay increase. After four months, the Sag-Aftra film and television union has reached a tentative deal, but we may be waiting a while for the art itself to triumph
It’s over. The stream of sweatshirted and placard-wielding Instagram no-filter/no-makeup posts from stars is at an end. The Sag-Aftra film and television actors’ strike in Hollywood is paused after four months, with a tentative deal giving actors larger minimum-pay increases, a streaming bonus and “consent and compensation” provisions against AI, although how exactly this last is to be enforced remains to be seen. For those who had thought of Hollywood as the very epitome of free-marketeerism, the spectacle of an actual strike, which remained reasonably popular and un-demonised in the press, and which produced a result, is quite startling. Especially as British Equity doesn’t have this kind of power.

If 16 seasons of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" have taught us anything, it's that there's nothing Danny DeVito won't do for a laugh. Sylvester Stallone has crowned Arnold Schwarzenegger the “superior” action star, less than a year after openly admitting the two actors loathed each other throughout the 1980s as Hollywood pit their acting careers against one another. In Schwarzenegger’s recently released Netflix documentary “Arnold,” Stallone says there’s no question that Schwarzenegger was the more ideal action hero.
“The ’80s was a very interesting time because the definitive ‘action guy’ had not really been formed yet,” Stallone said (via IndieWire). “Up until that time, action was a car chase like ‘Bullitt’ or ‘The French Connection.’ A film all about intellect and innuendo and verbal this and verbal that.”
Stallone credited Schwarzenegger with making action cinema more dependent on the actor.
“You actually relied upon your body to tell the story,” Stallone said. “Dialogue was not necessary. I saw that there was an opportunity, because no one else was doing this except some other guy from Austria,...

He then learned that there was another showbiz figure who already went by the name Johnny Legend – a porn producer.

Los Angeles, April 3 (Ians) Hollywood star Russell Crowe has quipped that he will return as General Maximus Decimus Meridius in the ‘Gladiator’ sequel – as a corpse lying “six feet under” the Colosseum.
The 58-year-old actor grabbed an Oscar for playing the vengeful Roman commander in Ridley Scott’s 2000 epic and has said he won’t be starring in the long-awaited follow-up, set 20 years after the first film, reports aceshowbiz.com.
“I think when they’re shooting in the Colosseum and stuff, I’ll be lying like six feet underground… you won’t see me, but I’ll be there beneath the ground,” he joked on ‘The Jonathan Ross Show’.
Russell added that he had spoken with ‘Blade Runner’ director Ridley, 85, about the sequel, but they had concluded his character was better left dead.

It's easy to assume that pop-star-turned-actor Lily Allen and her "Stranger Things" actor husband, David Harbour, knew of each other before they embarked on their first date. But you'd be wrong. During an appearance on "The Jonathan Ross Show," which will air April 1, Allen said had no idea who Harbour was, had never watched the Netflix show (where had she been?!), and actually thought he was a policeman.
The couple met on celebrity dating app Raya, but Allen wasn't taking her swiping seriously. "It was the first time I'd been on this dating app. I was scrolling through and landed on David's profile and pressed accept," she said. "I didn't know who he was. I thought he was just like a sexy policeman from a reality TV show. He was wearing a policeman's uniform. It was a still from 'Stranger Things.' I'd never seen 'Stranger Things.'...

Russell Crowe has addressed the rumours he will be in Ridley Scott’s Gladiator sequel.
The new film, focusing on Lucius, the son of Maximus’s lover Lucilla (played by Connie Nielsen in the 2000 original), is set to be released in 2024.
Movie fans have been wondering whether Crowe, who played Maximus, will appear in some way in the film. As he dies in the original, it has been theorised that he could show up in a flashback.
“I think when they’re shooting in the colosseum and stuff, I’ll be lying like 6ft underground,” Crowe quipped via video call on this Saturday’s episode of The Jonathan Ross Show (1 April), adding: “You won’t see me, but I’ll be there beneath the ground.”
Crowe then conclusively said he is “not involved” in the film – and that he has barely even spoken to Scott about the project despite recently meeting up with him.

This article contains spoilers for HBO’s The Last of Us.
The season 1 finale of HBO’s The Last of Us may have been climactic, but things didn’t necessarily end on a massive cliffhanger. After finding the Fireflies in Salt Lake City and discovering that Ellie (Bella Ramsey) would have to die for them to make a cure for Cordyceps, Joel takes matters into his own hands and forcefully stops the surgery that would have removed the Cordyceps from her brain. Leaving behind the bodies of Fireflies who would dare stand in his way, Joel takes Ellie and sets off for his brother’s settlement in Jackson, Wyoming.
When Ellie wakes up, she asks Joel what happened, and he lies saying the hospital was attacked and that the Fireflies had been able to conduct enough tests on other immune people that they had stopped looking for a cure. Once they reach Jackson,...

Bella Ramsey has admitted that she is still getting used to being recognised, with some public encounters being less than ideal.
The actor, who previously played Lyanna Mormont in Game of Thrones, stars in the HBO hit series The Last of Us.
The dystopian thriller series concluded its first season on Sunday (12 March) and has been met with universal acclaim since its debut in January.
As a result, Ramsey’s profile is bigger than ever.
During an appearance on the forthcoming episode of The Jonathan Ross Show, host Ross asked the actor whether she gets recognised by fans in public.
She replied: “Yes I do. It’s more consistent, it’s more like every time I go out now. Some people have panic attacks! It’s very overwhelming, I’d find it overwhelming seeing someone I knew on the street.

Bella Ramsey has given a gruelling update on The Last of Us season two.
The actor stars in the HBO series, which drew to an end earlier this month, alongside Pedro Pascal.
Critics and audiences heaped praise upon the post-apocalyptic drama, and it’s commonly regarded to be one of the greatest video game adaptations of all time.
As soon as the finale aired on Sunday (12 March), fans wanted to know when they could expect season two.
Considering the episodes are still in the process of being written by co-creator Craig Mazin (Chernobyl), it’s expected that there will be quite a wait before they premiere.
However, Ramsey, who plays Ellie in the show, has given an update on when she thinks the episodes are likely to arrive – and, if her estimates are correct, there’ll be even longer to wait.

Appearing on The Jonathan Ross Show on Saturday (11 March) alongside Prue Leith, stand-up comedian Acaster – who made a memorable appearance on the Stand Up to Cancer celebrity edition in 2019 – addressed his rumoured involvement.
“No-one’s spoken to me about it and rightly so,” he said.

Exclusive: UK studio comedy and entertainment shows are preparing to throw open their doors to live audiences from next week, as the British government relaxes social restrictions amid an easing of the coronavirus crisis.
From May 17, there won’t just be bums on seats in cinema screening rooms and theatres — some of the UK’s biggest television studios will once again welcome members of the public, meaning comedians and performers can get back to what they do best: Playing to a crowd.
Audiences briefly trickled back into television recordings last fall, but as Covid-19 cases rocketed, doors have been shut for months, and shows have largely recorded in front of virtual gatherings or scrapped audiences completely.
There is hope among producers that the latest unlocking will be more sustainable after the UK’s successful vaccination rollout. Some shows are planning to open at full capacity from June 21, when there should...

Exclusive: As the UK braces for lockdown 2.0 on Thursday, TV production will continue, but there will be inevitable side effects for studio comedy and entertainment shows, which are having to shut out audiences once again.
Live studio audiences had only just started to trickle back in August, but fans will no longer be able to attend their favorite shows as new four-week stay-at-home orders come into force on November 5 amid a second wave of coronavirus.
Among the shows impacted will be Strictly Come Dancing, the BBC One’s blockbuster dance competition, which provided an antidote to the Covid gloom for 10.3M viewers on Saturday — one of the show’s best audiences in two years.
But in a notice on the BBC studio audience website, producers said: “We’re sad to announce that we won’t be able to have a live studio audience for Strictly Come Dancing during November.”

British actor Danny Dyer has claimed that he wasn’t really “acknowledged” for his acting until starring in BBC primetime soap EastEnders.
The star of gritty British dramas such as The Football Factory and Vendetta highlighted the “snobbery” around UK soaps, which remain some of the highest rated scripted series on British television.
Dyer joined the BBC One series, which is based around a community in East London, in 2013. He has since picked up National Television Awards and TV Choice Awards for his role as pub landlord Mick Carter. Speaking on ITV’s The Jonathan Ross Show, he said, “It’s mad because towards soap there is a bit of snobbery and I think I was part of that mob when I was making films, you think you’re cool and cult. I never really got acknowledged for being an actor until I went into a soap.”
