Theon is given the command of a ship while his sister Yara is put in command of a fleet of 30 ships. - Craster orders the Nighy's Watch to leave his home and Lord Commander Mormont reprehends Jon Snow since Craster is important for his men. Catelyn visits Renly expecting an alliance with him. Tyrion tests the loyalty of the small council and tells a different plan of marriage alliance for Princess Myrcella to Pycelle, Varys and Littlefinger and Bronn arrests Pycelle for betrayal. Theon has to decide whether he is loyal to his family or to Robb Stark. The Lannister men arrive at Yoren's camping and kill him; Polliver takes the Needle from Arya and stabs Lommy in the throat with the Needle. When the captors ask to the prisoners who Gendry is, Arya points out to Lommy that had stolen Gendry's helm.—Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
- Tyrion gets his private harlot Shae to become Sansa's bumbling handmaiden and sets a trap for the small council members by telling each another prospective bride for Joffrey's sister Myrcella, proving learned master Pycelle the traitor and queen-regent's spy rather then Varys or Littlefinger. Desperate for an ally in Robb's northern secession war, kin Cathlyn approaches still carefree king Renly Baratheon of Stormlands, who knights the visor-masked tournament winner Brienne of Tarth and admits her to the body guard of seven, to the dismay of his gay lover Loras Tyrell, while his pragmatic queen Margaery offers any threesome if only they beget an heir. Theon duly scolds his father Balon Greyjoy for reproaching him the effects of the banishment to the Stark court imposed on the surviving son, finds his sister is given command of thirty ships, he only one, and considers warning Robb that the Iron Islands king plans to raid and submit most of the north. Watch commander Jeor Mormont duly reprimands but rescues Jon for intervening with indispensable Wildling ally Craster's boy sacrifices. Bran doubts his tutor's assurances that his recurring visions are mere nightmares of magical bedtime stories about extinct dangers like dragons. King's guards capture Arya and Gendry, whose identity they can hide.—KGF Vissers
- Catelyn arrives at Renly's camp to negotiate an alliance. The female warrior, Brienne of Tarth, wins the right to join Renly's king's guard through combat. Renly has recently wed Margaery Tyrell, Loras's sister. Renly avoids consummating his and Margaery's marriage due to his homosexuality and sexual relationship with Loras. In the Iron Islands, Balon plans an attack on the North, led by Yara. After burning his letter to Robb warning of Balon's impending attack, Theon affirms his allegiance to House Greyjoy in a water-based ceremony. In King's Landing, Tyrion imprisons Pycelle after determining he is Cersei's informant. Tyrion appoints his lover, Shae, as Sansa's handmaiden, both to protect Shae and watch Sansa. Beyond the Wall, Craster demands the Night's Watchmen leave. Jon discovers that Jeor Mormont has always known about and ignored Craster's incestuous crimes in exchange for his men's respite at his keep. On the road to the wall, the Night's Watch recruits are attacked by Lannister soldiers searching for Gendry. Yoren is killed, and Arya and Gendry are taken prisoner. To protect Gendry, Arya falsely states that a boy the guards have killed was Gendry.
- Catelyn arrives at Renly's camp to negotiate an alliance, watching the female warrior Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie) winning the right to join Renly's guard. Renly has recently married Margaery Of the House Tyrell (Natalie Dormer), Loras's (Finn Jones) sister, but doesn't have sex with her due to his feelings for Loras. Renly has 100,000 men at his command. He promises to take King's Landing and bring her Joffrey's head. Catelyn warns Renly that his army is equipped for summer and "winter is coming". Loras is jealous of Brienne's loyalty to Renly. Loras is angry with Renly and wants him to have sex with Margaery instead. But try as he may, Renly cant get an erection with Margaery. Margaery reveals that she knows about Renly and Loras. She is supportive and is even open to a threesome, to get Renly to put his baby in her belly.
In the Iron Islands, Balon makes a plan to attack the North (Since Robb is away with his army to the south, the North is defenseless), led by Yara. Balon plans to pillage everything along the Northen shores. Winterfell might defy them for a yr, but the rest of the North will belong to the Greyjoys. Yara gets 30 ships (to attack a castle) and Theon 1 ship (to raid the villages on one shore). Theon argues with Balon to ally with the Starks, but Balon refuses. After burning a letter warning Robb of Balon's impending attack, Theon re-joins the Greyjoys in a water-based ceremony.
In King's Landing, Tyrion crafts a plan to find who is in Cersei's confidence (he tells 3 slightly different versions of a secret to Pycelle, Varys and Petyr) (The secret is that he is trying to forge an alliance by promising the wedding of Cersei's daughter Myrcella to the House Martell of Dorne, Theon Greyjoy and Robin Arryn respectively); he finds it is Pycelle and imprisons him. Pycelle claims that he always served the Lannisters but he did betray Arryn. Tyrion assigns his lover, Shae, as handmaiden to Sansa (after she is bored to death being locked away in his room). But Shae knows nothing about being a Handmaiden and manages to anger the docile Sansa. Eventually though, they manage to get along. Tyrion wants Petyr to meet Catelyn and negotiate Jaime's release. Meanwhile Sansa is being judged by Cersei at every second to show any sign of resentment against Joffrey treatment of Ned, or the potential future deaths of Robb and Catelyn.
Beyond the Wall, Craster demands the Night's Watchmen leave. When Lord Jeor confronts Jon finds out that Jeor already knew about Craster's felonies. Jeor says that Craster's newborn boys are offerings to the wild-lings who sometimes spare the Night's watch soldiers in return. But Jon says it wasn't the wild-lings, it was the white walkers. Before leaving Sam gives Gilly a sewing thumb as a gift. Back at Winterfell, Bran continues to have his dreams. He realizes that in his dreams, he is walking and running, but in someone else's body. Sometimes an animal's body. His grandmother used to tell him stories about magical creatures who could move inside the body of other creatures.
On the road to the wall, the band of Night's Watch recruits are attacked by Tywin Lannister soldiers looking for Gendry. Yoren (Francis Magee) is killed, and Arya is taken prisoner. Another boy had taken Gendry's bull helmet and was killed wearing it. Arya states that Gendry was the boy the soldiers had killed. The survivors are taken to Harrenhall.
