I liked it!

Great little movie for these guys first attempt! Yes, the movie was made with a limited budget and with actors who have little acting or no experience. However I was pleasantly surprised by the acting and the editing. Cheri's part (the lead), was quite a treat knowing that she had zero prior acting experience! Several of the actors were really great while a couple of them were obvious rookies. The on-location scenes, especially the ones in Seattle were very well done. All in all a nice little faith Based film. Give it a look, you won't be disappointed! I look forward to seeing these guys improve and to see what they come up with next!

Bound to Disappoint.

Warning: Spoilers
This is my second attempt at posting my review. Apparently the makers of the film can't stomach negative reviews, so I will try again... Categorized as "romance," "Bound" is anything but. A better appropriation would have been to the category "Propaganda" ( if such a category existed ) The real plot is conversion to the "Church of Christ" There does seem to be authentic chemistry between the characters. (casting a couple to play a couple is ...dare I say it... cheating? ) As my 14 yr old pointed out, "Bound" is a symphony of gratuitous filler. So much so that it became tiresome and exceedingly boring. Fraught with badly edited scenes and audio ... At 31:33... hello Rudy Cain. My personal favorite scene was the "Homeless encounter" where Sherry is treated to the sophomoric and naive interpretation of indigent drunken behavior. ( because we all know that homeless people are all drunks who sip on full bottles of Jack Daniels, and talk with a Bobcat Golthwaite voice) Throughout the film, hints are shouted at the possibility of "sale" to a Saudi Prince but "Sherry" never questions the obvious hints... or rebels against her captivity in anything other than a mild rant and broken plate. In the end, we are pleasantly surprised at the plot twist ... " oooh, suspenseful" The book of photos ( an allusion to "the Book of LIfe" I'm sure ) is the final straw that causes Sherry to question her captivity. And who does she run to? Ahh yes... a loving church member. ( did it never occur to her that this is an incestuous bees nest that is in constant communication with each other?) We finally get resolve when we realize that the book is actually a documentation of successful cult indoctrinations. - We are then treated to witnessing by those converts. Irony abounds in this "cozy country setting"..."Bound" proudly proclaims "this is not a cult" while the plot line of " kidnap and isolate a potential convert in order to persuade her to accept our doctrine" is a laughable metaphor for the reality that IS the "Church of Christ." I can't help but recall the similar plot line in "Black Snake Moan" The title of the film "Bound" even hints at a possible S&M/bondage theme, but was sadly disappointing.
