In March of 2011, while visiting Texas, artist and filmmaker Preston Spurlock shot two companion pieces on the sites of two of the state's most infamous human tragedies. The first piece, titled WACO, documents the site of the 1993 standoff between the A.T.F. and the fringe religious group The Branch Davidians, which resulted in over 80 deaths. The second piece, titled U.T, details the sniping that took place at the University Of Texas in 1966, wherein ex-Marie Charles Whitman ascended the school's iconic clock tower, and shot at people in the campus square.
