The movie started really good. I would say around 7/10. But then gradually it went all the way to 4/10. And now I'm hella confused.
First of all, the cast is great. Courtney and Thomas got that chemistry. And they are really bringing those characters to life. Plus them dialogues felt really authentic. Overall vibe is also quite nice.
But the story? Not so much. Like it has a solid foundation that just getting undermine by constant timeskips. And subsequently a lot of stuff is just getting lost in between those jumps (not to mention that they are kinda confusing). Like we got to see the beginning of Riley's relationship with Ethan. Then we get like a one scene in the middle and then it jumps to "it didn't work out". Like, excuse me, it's a movie and I'd like to see something and not be told about it after the fact.
And then there's that ending. I don't know what message they wanted to convey but I got only "if your life sucks - try to kill yourself again and maybe it will help". It doesn't even make sense in the context of the movie. Like what, why, are you for real?
