- Robin accepts a dinner invitation from Al, learns that everyone on the force knows about her own rape when a teenager, drinks too much, and stays the night. By the next night, she's a pub chatting with one of her assailants, who may not recognize her. Her response changes her status on the force, and sends her again to Johnno. - Robin has dinner with Al Parker who suggests she may be too wrapped up in Tui's disappearance and pregnancy because of her own rape at age 15. She reveals that she too got pregnant and gave birth to a little girl. In the pub soon after one of rapists, Sarge, makes a pass at her obviously not recognizing her. She loses it but Johnno helps her out. Al's calls her on the carpet and tells the case is closed. She continues to pursue the case and knowing that evidence that Zanic was in Auckland when Tui got pregnant and becomes interested in a boy in a blue hoodie, Jamie. She meets the local pathologist who says there have been at least three deaths that required further police investigation but Al has sat on all of them.—garykmcd
- As Robin discusses over dinner at Al's luxurious house the missing Tui's case, it is gradually becoming more clear, that because of her painful past, Robin is obsessed with finding the girl, not to mention that she is in a constant conflict with her mother Jude and that she drinks heavily. The following night will find Robin at the local bar talking with Sarge, however, a brutal incident of suppressed aggression will bear unforeseen results for Detective Robin sending her back to Johnno, who apparently, needs to get something bad off his chest. Additionally, there is a sudden outburst of violence in Paradise. It seems that Zanic is evidently off the hook for the kidnapping, while at the same time, an unwilling and secretive friend of Tui's is complicating the case.—Nick Riganas
- A violent incident raises questions about Robin's future with the local police, but she won't let go of the case. She locates a friend of Tui's who refuses to speak a word to anyone. He is accused of disrespect, but Robin believes there are deeper motives at play. His silence may hold a clue to Tui's disappearance and she's determined to earn his trust. Robin is also contacted by a pathologist who has investigated several cases for the local police. He tells Robin about additional evidence with potentially powerful implications, and she finds herself ever more committed to getting to the bottom of Tui's case. At the same time, she begins to exhume long-buried memories with Johnno. He hints at a tragic secret from their past that could threaten the future of their relationship and her work on the case.
