I came into this film wanting to under stand the deep relationship that black people and black women have in the fashion industry and the beauty industry. Instead we got a project that felt like it lacked love and care about the topic. Great information, but felt empty. Even the edited clips felt like they allowed AI to stitch random interviews together without no real motive or no real direction. Love the information. It did shed a little light on the trailblazers and pioneers but when i say a little i mean like 15 seconds each. There was no intimate information of any of the creatives. None of their struggles in the industry. None of their important works.
