Isabel is tried for the murder of Paul's father, her lover, Paul remains the only family member who believes her innocent, he doggedly continues to search for the real killer.
I watched this for the first time as a twelve year old, and of course some of the concepts might have been strange at that age, where as now I enjoy it for what it is, a piece of Victorian drama, with a twist.
It definitely is a case of the grotesque, I'm sure the events here would have been incredibly shocking in Victorian times.
The ending here is very dramatic, and has a definite creepy vibe, it's McNeice that steals the show here.
It's been enjoyable from start to finish, 8/10.
