The potential for this show is incredible - a great family, some real skill with engines and cars, and very likable characters.
Unfortunately, the show has been scripted to the very ends of the earth so that it is not a reality show, but scripted sitcom-esque production with heroes, villains, protagonists, and a whole lot of incorrect vehicle nonsense.
I am sure that the family are horrified by the rubbish that the writers and producers made them say to camera. For example, "Porsche 911's are mid-engined...". No, they're rear-engined, and have been since day-one. This incorrect information was accompanied by an equally incorrect animation showing the engine in the wrong location. This is just once example of many in each episode.
I have no doubt that the Maloof family are skilled in what they do, but they have been scripted to look like they are amateurs and know nothing.
It's a shame - I watched the series wanting to like it, but ended up feeling very let down.
C'mon, Netflix. You can do better.
