Interesting private eye feature, with debatable ending

Warning: Spoilers
Certain elements make this second neo-noir movie by Nica Noelle seem unfinished, but overall it is an entertaining female private eye picture.

Michelle Lay stars as Detective Mitch Thompson (though at one point she identifies herself as Detective Lay, an obvious blooper that sloppily made it into the final print), who takes the case of Heather Silk looking for a missing person, her girlfriend Luna (played by Elexis Monroe).

Lay goes about interviewing folks, providing flashbacks that unfold a strong backstory concerning a cult of Satan worshipers that was founded by Luna's deceased father. Fantasy, perhaps just imaginary, includes Luna being a Moon Child, born of a magical couple.

Director Nica Noelle appears near the end of the film giving a strong performance as Luna's mother, living in an insane aslyum, but briefly reunited with her daughter.

Film's finale is rather abrupt, with what seems like a scene or two missing, as the detective returns Luna to her home with violent results. Ray McLean's screenplay, as directed by Nica, conforms to the open ending so often found in her films, leaving the viewer to wonder what happens next.

For sex scenes, she has rounded up an exemplary cast, including Misty Rain, strong as a one-night stand humping Michelle in the opening segment, Sinn Sage as an expert on the occult who fills in a lot of the story's exposition, Georgia Jones as cult member and Tanner Mayes as Luna's sexy young roommate.
