Well it had to happen didn’t it? We’ve had sharks of every kind from The Asylum and the Syfy channel: Zombie Sharks, Ghost Sharks, Swamp Sharks, Ice Sharks… Now we have and Entire Planet of sharks!
In the near future, glacial melting has covered 98% of earth’s landmass. Sharks have flourished, eating all underwater life. They now dominate the planet, operating as one massive school led by a terrifyingly greedy mutated alpha-shark. The only human survivors live in terror of the predators, and it s up to them and them alone, to take down the gigantic leader shark and make the seas safe again.
Well, well. What a surprise Planet of the Sharks turned out to be.

I’ll be damn if I didn’t recognize Corin Nemec in “Dragon Wasps”, the latest Syfy Channel movie of the week waiting to be announced. He sure has come a long way from “Parker Lewis Can’t Lose”, and for a moment there his career got something of a resurgence when he joined (albeit briefly) the cast of “Stargate: SG1. Nowadays, Nemec spends his time doing low-budget creature movies like “Dragon Wasps”. Hey, those mortgage bills don’t pay themselves, you know. So what’s “Dragon Wasps” all about? Wasps that grow up to be fire-breathing dragon-ish creatures, I would imagine based on the plot synopsis and trailer below. When her father mysteriously disappears on an expedition, beautiful entomologist Gina Humphries and her fiery assistant, Rhonda, set out to search the rain forests of Belize. Due to numerous robberies and assaults in the jungle, they are escorted by heavily-armed soldiers.

We return with the latest edition of the Indie Spotlight, highlighting recent independent horror news sent our way. Today’s feature includes release details for A Resurrection, the first teaser trailer for Ten, a review of Smiley, and much more:
First Teaser Trailer for Ten: “Ten is a collectivist, post-exploitation psychological thriller devised as a possible explanation for the events of the 1972 Spektor Island Massacre. On a cold December afternoon, ten women arrive at a mansion on Spektor Island, famed for years of reported hauntings and strange activities. Will they live through the night?
The all-female cast film is a response to exploitation, slasher, and thriller films, with particular focus on the kind of storytelling prominent in b-movies and genre films from the 1950s to the 1980s. It explores the meaning and fluidity of identity and takes a number of surprising turns, paying homage to filmmakers and producers such as Alfred Hitchcock,...

The Dinosaur Project is the (fictional) story of a missing Congo expedition and the findings of the Cryptozoological Society to audiences around the world. The film features stunning recovered footage of creatures thought to be extinct for 65 million years. As the search for the missing crew continues, questions remain about the source of the missing footage and the manner in which it was discovered.
Before I go any further, here’s the now-defacto disclaimer: This is a found-footage movie. And you all know how much I despise the sub-genre. When it’s done wrong it’s usually done Very wrong and when it’s good… Well I can’t remember the last time it was! What also works against The Dinosaur Project is that you just...

Now the British summer has made a belated reappearance, we can expect a few downsides such as hay fever, sunburn and insect bites - but no flying pests in our gardens can rival Dragon Wasps. And a can of the standard repellent probably won't do much good either.
This giant creature feature is written by Mark Atkins. His previous genre outings include numerous hit-inspired 'mockbusters' such as Snakes on a Train, 30,000 Leagues Under The Sea, War of the Worlds 2, Allan Quartermain and the Temple of Skulls, Princess of Mars (an alternative version of John Carter), Battle of Los Angeles and Avh: Alien vs Hunter.
He's also been involved in several dragon-themed productions including Dragonquest, Merlin and the War of the Dragons, and Dragon Crusaders.
Now offering an insect slant on the concept, the cast of Dragon Wasps features Corin Nemec (Stargate Sg-1, Smallville, Supernatural), Dominika Juillet (Dark Angel), Benjamin Easterday...

Get a kick out of giant man-eating insects? Then you'll want to tune into this new clip from Joe Knee's upcoming creature feature, Dragon Wasps. There isn't a wealth of story revealed in this brief video, but we do get a look at the vicious titular creature, which looks surprisingly cool (that CGI work is actually fairly solid). Dragon Wasps may have “SyFy Network” written all over it,...

Piranhaconda isn’t the only new b-movie creature trailer dropping today. Gigantic fire-spewing wasps terrorize soldiers in the trailer for Dragon Wasps. Is it wrong I think this looks more fun than Piranhaconda?
Typically wasps are known for their stingers. Stingers look to be the least of your worries here what with these dragon wasps earning their namesake with their ability to project fire like flying flamethrowers.
