- Jon and the wildlings scale the Wall. The Brotherhood sells Gendry to Melisandre. Robb does what he can to win back the Freys. Tyrion tells Sansa about their engagement.
- In King's Landing, Tywin Lannister and Lady Olenna meet to discuss his children's proposed marriages. She puts up a good fight but in the end is forced to admit defeat. Tyrion and Cersei bemoan their fate. Tyrion is forced to tell Sansa what his father has decided. Baelish meanwhile eliminates a spy in his midsts. Arya takes an immediate dislike to Melisandre when she arrives at their camp. That dislike grows when she learns Melisandre is taking someone away with her. Jaime negotiates his release and return to King's Landing. Robb, his army depleted, realizes he has no choice but to repair relations with the Freys. However, since Robb didn't marry one of the Frey daughters as promised, they demand Edmure Tully marry one of them instead. - Tywin summons Lady Olenna Tyrell and forces her to accept the marriage of Loras and Cersei. Meanwhile Tyrion discloses his father's decision to Sansa in front of Shae. Melisandre meets the Brotherhood without Banners and takes Gendry into her custody, delivering two sacks of gold to them. Edmure is forced to marry Walder Frey's daughter to help Robb. Theon Greyjoy continues to be tortured and loses his little finger. - Hand Tywin blackmails Olenna Tyrell into accepting Loras's shambles marriage to Cersei and Tyrion's to Sansa, as feared by both his kids and bemoaned by their betrothed. Ramsay intensifies Theon's torture, tearing up a little finger, and withdraws his promise of release if Theon guesses where he is and who takes revenge why, smirking he just enjoys sadism. Robb gets a last change to replete his Northern army: Walter Frey will join if his scorned daughter gets to marry, as second choice after Robb failed to, unwilling vassal Edmure Tully, who thus redeems himself. Bran makes his jealously bickering girl companions make up wile Jojen Reed suffers heavy spasms during a vision of Jon's peril. Trying to climb the wall is snowy weather, Jon can barely hook up with Ygritte dangling by a rope after they are cut off as a crack makes a large ice slate come loose and drags half their Wildling party down. - In King's Landing, Tywin coerces Olenna into an agreement to marry Cersei to Loras. Cersei admits to Tyrion that Joffrey tried to have him killed during the siege. Tyrion informs Shae and Sansa about his and Sansa's betrothal. Littlefinger tells Varys that he discovered Ros was Varys' informant and that Joffrey killed her. In the Riverlands, Melisandre buys Gendry from the Brotherhood, and foretells Arya that she will kill many people with brown eyes, green eyes, and blue eyes; she promises they will meet again. Having married Talisa, Robb strikes a new agreement with Walder Frey by giving him Harrenhal and having his uncle, Edmure Tully, marry a Frey daughter or granddaughter. Roose Bolton plans to send Jaime to King's Landing, but refuses to allow Brienne to accompany him. At an unknown location, the mysterious man continues torturing Theon. In the North, tension arises between Osha and Meera. Beyond the Wall, Sam continues his flight with Gilly, while Jon and Ygritte scale the Wall with two other Wildlings.
- In King's Landing, Tywin coerces Olenna into agreeing to marry Loras to Cersei (Olenna says Cersei is having sex with Jaime, while Tywin says Loras is gay) (he threatens Olenna that He will assign Loras to life threatening assignments unless she agrees to his marriage to Cersei). Cersei reveals to Tyrion that it was Joffrey who tried to have him killed during the siege.
Baelish tells Varys that he has caught Ros as Varys' informant (Ros had told Varys about Petyr's plan to take Sansa away with him, based on which Varys made the plan to marry Sansa to Loras. But then Petyr found out and changed the game by getting Sansa married to Tyrion instead) and has given Ros to Joffrey, who kills her with his new crossbow.
Tyrion confesses to Shae and Sansa about the upcoming marriage. Now Sansa is really sad to have refused Petyr's offer to take her away from King's Landing.
In the Riverlands, Melisandre meets up with Thoros and Dondarrion. it seems that the Brotherhood is also part of the Lord of Light cult worshiped by Melisandre. In addition they speak the same code word "Valar Morghulis" given by the assassin Jaqen to Arya when he left her outside Harrenhall. Melisandre is alarmed that Thoros has brought Dondarrion back from the dead 6 times already. Melisandre buys Gendry from the Brotherhood (Saying that the Light Lord needs his service), foretelling that Arya will kill many people. Gendry doesn't want to leave the brotherhood, but Melisandre tells him that he will make Kings rise and fall.
Robb makes a new deal with Frey by agreeing to give him Harrenhal and marry his uncle Edmure Tully (Tobias Menzies) to Frey's daughter, Roslin. Edmure is not happy with the arrangement, but Robb forces him to accept this as the price for kidnapping the great grandsons of Tywin's brother, who were later murdered by Richard Karstark. Roose Bolton plans to send Jaime to King's Landing In exchange for his soldiers cutting off his arm and immunity from any future persecution (he knows that the Lannisters will kill him if he sends Jaime back North to Robb), but refuses to send Brienne with him.
At an unknown location, the mysterious man (Ramsay) continues to torture Theon. Theon is kept starving and without water for days on end. Ramsay starts cutting bits of flesh off Theon's fingers. Ramsay ask Theon to guess where he is and who his torturer is. Theon believes that he is Karhold, and that the man is the son of Rickard Karstark, a banner-man of RObb Stark. But Theon is wrong.
In the North, tension arises between Osha and Meera. Meera is from the south and Osha from the North, and they don't see eye to eye on anything. Jojen has a vision that Jon Snow is on the wrong side of the wall and surrounded by enemies. Due to the visions, Jojen gets frequent strokes.
Meawhile at the wall, Jon guides a battalion of wild-ling soldiers (including Ygritte (Rose Leslie)) to scale the wall. The wall is 700 ft high, all made of ice. Tormund comments that the Night's Watch is getting smaller every yr and there was a time when there were no trees within a mile of the wall (which allowed the wild-lings to hide as they approached the wall). Tormund has scaled the wall many times. Ygritte tells Jon that she knows he didn't switch sides when he met Mance. She says they are both mere soldiers in their armies and nobody cares for their life. She says they both need to care for each other. Beyond the Wall, Sam continues his flight with Gilly and her son. Sam shows Gilly the dragon-glass he recovered from the Fist of the First men. The dragon-glass is thousands of yrs old. They are a few days march away from the wall Jon and Ygritte manage to climb the Wall with two other Wildlings (Tormund and Orell). The other climbers perish in an avalanche triggered towards the mid part of the wall.
