- TriviaLucy Maud Montgomery made an appearance in episode twelve of season nine having written her famed novel before meeting Crabtree - Anne Of Green Gables (1908). 'Anne' Shirley was based on a picture of Evelyn Nesbit (December 25, 1884 - January 17, 1967) an American model she saw in a magazine. The character was based on Lucy Maud Montgomery's youth. In "Lucky In Love" (Feb 01, 2016), Lucy let George read her work. He thought Anne should be a boy. Though she did not like that commentary, George did encourage her, which led to it being published. The book was already finished when she met George.
- Quotes
Inspector Thomas Brackenreid: If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue, or walk with kings nor lose the common touch, if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you, if all men count with you, but none too much. If you can fill the unforgiving minute, with 60 seconds' worth of distance run, yours is the earth and everything that's in it, and which is more, you'll be a man, my son!
Rudyard Kipling: Truer words were never spoken, If I may say so myself.
Inspector Thomas Brackenreid: I don't disagree. I think it's one of your most brilliant pieces.
Rudyard Kipling: And hot off the presses, too. If by committing my new poem, if, to memory you are trying to grovel back an autograph, It's working.
Inspector Thomas Brackenreid: I don't grovel. I'm here to tell you that the man of virtue described in your poem is not the man that sits before me. And I'd sooner have the bartender's autograph than yours. Oh, and, uh, I picked up your tab so you don't stiff him again. Men of virtue pay their bills, sir.
If you've never done so, I highly recommend you check out Anne of Green Gables at your local library. You will fall in love with Anne, and her uplifting story HAS to be more worthwhile than watching MM current episodes! You will probably then want to read the several sequels to Anne's story. If you're not a book reader, I highly recommend watching the 1985 TV Mini Series starring Megan Follows. It, too, was so successful that sequels were done and, again, is a vastly more rewarding and enriching experience than watching current, generally disappointing episodes of MM.
