Of Value

Warning: Spoilers
I won't call "Of Value" the latest offering from NCIS: Los Angeles a particularly great episode, but it did spotlight a growing trend that we have seen in some of the better episodes the last few years and that is giving us some Fatima and Kensi moments. While not partners outright, when those two are paired they do give us some fun moments and seeing the two powerful female characters overcome the obstacles faced tonight was entertaining. Hopefully we get a few more missions involving these two ladies teaming up before the show signs off for the final team, that would be ideal for NCIS: Los Angeles.

"Of Value"

Warning: Spoilers
A husband and wife architectural team who specialise in designing and building military installations are captured by unknown forces, and their rescue is the main plot thread on this episode. LL Cool J's Sam Hanna is off-screen the entire episode (taking his father to an appointment) which means Callen and Deeks are working together, whilst Kensi and Fatima also team up. I like both combinations, especially the latter. Cool how Kensi is sort of a mentor to Fatima now, and also cool to see her and Deeks taking steps as parents, too.

Elsewhere, Ana Kolcheck contemplates her future - we get a rare glimpse at the almost-martial bliss for her and Callen - and Kilbride has Rountree looking for an Army combat veteran who is missing from his house.

Even though I saw the big reveal on this episode coming a mile off, it was a good episode.

The series is just not as good as it once was

Sadly, NCIS LA is not as good as it used to be. The action. The humor. The suspense. The storylines. The writing. The "family/team" chemistry that used to be there.

The last couple of seasons just doesn't portray a "real" and "believable" story like earlier episodes in the previous years. Seems like the writers strive to make sure everything has political correctness instead of real life scenarios.

I enjoy Gerald McRaney as an actor but I just don't care for his character in this series. Nor do I care for the Fatima and Roundtree characters. To me the chemistry just isn't there like it used to be. Maybe I'm just set in my ways but the last few seasons just haven't appeased me.

It's hard getting through these episodes anymore, but I keep hoping.

PLEASE!!!

Have Kenzie and Deeks quit to become teachers in Montana. It can be a nice goodbye. This shtick about parenting Rosa is so insipid. Please stop. This is a crime procedural, not Leave it to Beaver.

Their cutesie relationship has eyes rolling week after week. Let them keep solving crime and keep their personal life in the cutting room. We're already incredulous about how a Federal law enforcement agency would let a married couple be partners. It is a hoot to see 110 pound Kensi kick ass of a 200 pound killer. But I digress.

Good guys find and take down bad guys. Zotz everything else because the audience does NOT care.
