Warning: Spoilers
This nice pagan story ,could have happened anywhere, flows like a dream for 101 min. That is, a narration of the unusual and at the same time simple way of Nikos- the young actor who plays the writer and the son in three different ages- to solve two imminent matters; to write a book and to find out how his father died. So, in middle winter, he decides to leave his exquisite Lovecraftian apartment in London and visit incognito (mother and bunker included),his old family house where he lived as a child, but now almost a ruin somewhere on the snowy mountains of North Greece. And, LO And Behold, we watch the young civilized man arriving at his old home and among the innumerable practicalities he has to confront on his every step,he starts his"Opus" by down-spiraling his memory to his early days. A total "going back to my roots" ,that will reveal the killers of his father and the story for a book. A magnificent sound and a splendid picture make this movie one that i recommend almost for everyone.
