Unholy Matrimony
hellraiser723 November 2021
This is part 3 in the Prince Krotan arc and it's another good one. The only bad thing is one thing Lothar said which I thought was out of character and stupid that he would slightly believe Jetta would come with Krotan at her own freewill, that was something in the writing that should have been edited out. Also, the bad guys in the truce the Defenders have don't get to do much, not to say they didn't help a little in thwarting Krotan but they could've done a bit more.

I really like that this episode has a bit of that adventurous feel as we see the Defenders go from one place to another in a race to save Jetta. There is also a double layer of suspense as they not just have to save Jetta before the unholy matrimony which would of course just enhance Krotan's position in royalty but also were hoping she will be able to not just escape but get a message out to the Defenders on the miniature mind bombs.

One of the things I like is how the Defenders and the people loyal to Ming come to a truce to work together to knock Krotan off the throne, it's kind of funny how even some of the baddies hate Krotan's guts. I don't blame them as Krotan's completely self-absorbed but also his terrible entitlement psyche just reaches heights on a terrible scale, where it's not even funny.

This guy is marrying Jetta for all the wrong reasons, he doesn't love Jetta if anyone he loves it's himself; but that Jetta is nothing but a trophy to him; which I always hate, as it's just a way of saying "I have this person and no one else can."

For the Defenders and myself that's not going to stand. There are some good moments and action bits like seeing the Defenders fight against these giant robots which are giant tanks which I thought were cool looking as they were unique.

Another was seeing the Defenders operate a giant silver robot which was also cool looking sort of like Talos from "Jason and the Argonauts", really like just seeing them turn the tables on Krotan with it and even do some damage to some of the Mongo palace which was cool.

Unfortunately, Krotan campaign is far from over, as the next round has just begun.

Rating: 3 stars.
