Hilarious.

This is a winning documentary about a Taxi driver from the hills of Dharamshala, India. He is about to get married but his wife has seen his face for barely a minute. There only way to keep in touch is through the phone and 2 years have passed. He is eager, worried, concerned, he claims you can love a stone too if you gain affection for it. She is quiet, nowhere to be seen. His families are very excited and his father (farmer) is trying to get money together.

The film is hilarious. You will laugh and laugh. Also though we live in Delhi, I related to a lot of things these hill people say and do. I loved this film and have seen it again too.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Loved it

I thought this movie was fantastic. I am a Canadian, and have spent 5 years in rural China, I have a great interest and love for the poor rurals of one's country. The joy with which they live their everyday lives with no real technology, the community they share is absolutely a joy to see. They have little money, but support each other and, in doing so, they seem to not make it a priority. People in the western world have a lot to learn from these wonderful souls. I found the same type of community spirit in rural china and do I ever miss it. I would much rather be in a community like the one portrayed in the documentary than in mine, where you don't even speak to your neighbors. I thought this was a beautifully documented picture that showed the warm spirit of the people involved. I hope they have a chance to see it for themselves.

Not my cup of tea

Warning: Spoilers
This movie is extremely disturbing. Although women deities in India are looked up upon in a religious aspect, it is never the case in their real life. We need less stories of dominating men and more insights from women living in the same scenario as this movie. This will educate both the men and women in all levels of such upbringing and culture. We want to keep seeing movies of both women and men trying to change the norm in hope for a better future. The fact that this movie was aired in 2017, upsets me. We need less production of movies such as this. This is a true representation of waste of effort, time and money. The rating should have been 0/10, really.

Strange

This movie is strange. I got interested by the description. But the movie is slow. And quite anchored into the Indian reality. Maybe it is funny there. For me it was just people talking. A talk show. Only a talk show talks about current events. I could not relate with the story, so that was not current events to me. And also the talk show is slow because, like all TV productions, it has to be long enough to fill the whole season. And than another. And another. The producers don't seem to get that. And I did not find it funny.

Also the framing and the lighting are unpleasant.
