A fantastic spectacle

Warning: Spoilers
I found the movie to be a compelling take on Yi Sun Shin's final battle and one that was incredibly meaningful and full of historical quotes and moments. As someone who is an enthuisiast on the Imijin War, I found myself suprised by how well they demonstrated the complexity of the situation on screen.

The action was spectacular in spectacle and the director really showed the whole battle in a clear fashion that was also true to the historical narrative.

The final part where Yi Sun Shin is shot and his son carries on the beat of the drum actually happened and was overlaid with a beautiful shot overlooking the dawn.

Respect history!

Please Korean filmmakers, respect history! I imagine that many years later, South Korea would also make movies about the Korean War in this way: South Korea, equipped with full American gear, fully armed, becomes the strongest main force to repel the Chinese Volunteer Army and North Korean Army, while the American forces, equipped with weapons from the last century, are cowardly and timid, dragging down the South Korean forces, becoming a burden. The cowardly and timid Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces, MacArthur, only cares about bribery and is afraid of fighting. President Lee Syngman is very angry. He storms into the Supreme Commander's headquarters and threatens MacArthur. If the United States dares to negotiate with China and North Korea, he will dissolve the Allied Forces and turn to attack the United States. It's truly unbelievable.
