"Bar25" is a German documentary from 2012, so this one has its 5th anniversary this year and it runs for slightly over 1.5 hours. It was made by Britta Mischer and the late Nana Yuriko and for the former it is the only career work and for the latter, it is almost the only. All according to IMDb of course. So yeah, this is basically a movie that focuses on a group of people and their so-called free-spirited lifestyle and their approach to life in general. Honestly, I saw nothing special in here at all. The film felt pretentious throughout almost its entire runtime and I myself believe that if there is something appealing in it, then that would be that we get an insight into a particular scene of music. However, this is an insight that those outside don't care about and those inside already have, so I really cannot think of anybody who would care about this film other than the people in it and their relatives and friends perhaps. The characters we see here are as bland as they are trying to be the opposite. Which means extremely bland. And if we already mention the people in it, then lets say it is pretty ridiculous how this film lists Quentin Tarantino (and former Berlin mayor Klaus Wowereit) in its cast because this would imply that these two are interviewees for example who provide deep insight about the subject. Of course, this is not that case. So the film is not even poorly made and irrelevant, but it is also very much on the misleading side. I give it a major thumbs-down and highly recommend to keep your distance to this one.
