I didn't watch the series of the same name, so maybe I missed out on some aspects of the film, even though I'm somehow confused how this movie can fit into a series even as a sequel.

What bothers me about it are the strong tendencies to paint everything black or white. Whenever there is some Grey mixed into the plot, the film develops its stronger parts. First of all, could someone please be a little more shocked in this movie to make me feel less hysterical? They're magically trans-located into a land of knights and sins and they all behave like that happens on a regular basis according to their reactions. Also it's not very unpredictable if the main hero just solves every mystery with his first attempt after he, surprise surprise, loses yet another member of the group, which doesn't matter because they are of no big help anyway and will return after the great success. Meanwhile there are more dramatic speeches given than during any Junior Basketball season and the picturing of teenagers and love is at the least naive.

As mentioned what I liked about the film where the plot twists and surprises. They gave a nice contrast to the otherwise predictable plot. All in all there are surely ingredients for a much more lasting film. I guess at some point the makers were just too afraid they could hurt parts of their audience by developing them deeper and more in detail.
