Sex & Nudity

- In the beginning of the game Vass captures you and says "and you think you have your hand on the p***y trigger".
- There is a sex scene in the game that is viewed in first person. There is lots of thrusting and grunting. Can be avoided, however.
- A character is accused of having a "hard-on" for the circumstances they are in.
- A sexually sadistic character is seen wearing boxer-shorts in one scene. Later in the same scene he grabs his genital area over the top of his clothes, stating he wants to "show his appreciation like a man".
- A sex worker will ask a man the player is tailing through a village if she can perform a sexual act on him. He declines. When the player walks past the sex worker, she will ask them a similar question, but is ignored and she cannot be interacted with.
- You will see the breasts of one female character in the game in an unskippable cutscene.
- Citra is seen wearing very tight clothing a couple of times.
- When sneaking into Vaas' camp, a woman in a bikini is seen dancing with a few pirates watching her. Very easy to miss and not graphic.
- Only nudity shown is at a certain ending.
Violence & Gore

- You can kill animals and skin them. The skinning animation does not show great detail, but there are spurts of blood during the animation and you are seen briefly picking up a wad of bloody animal skin and storing it away. The animal's corpse remains intact the entire time, except for being covered with a few patches of blood once finished. This is shown from a first person perspective.
- Players use machine guns, flamethrowers, explosives, and melee attacks to kill human enemies in frenetic combat.
- Players can also perform stealth attacks when sneaking up on enemies (e.g., using a knife to stab them from above, below or behind, at close range). The animation for this lasts about three seconds and is very quick. There are blood spurts and the knife may be seen protruding out the other side of the enemy (e.g.: through the chest). The enemy will grunt in pain before falling to the ground as a corpse (can be looted). No stab wound will be visible.
- Battles are accompanied by realistic screams of pain, gunfire, and large explosions; injured enemies emit large splashes of blood when injured.
- Some cutscenes and interactive sequences depict more intense acts of violence: characters stabbed in the neck, head, and chest.
Profanity

- Lots of F-words, somewhere around 100.
- Other language is also used but not that much as these two words. Most of the time, Vaas's pirates say "Holy Fuck!" Or "Shit!" When they spot you.

- Jason gets drugged several times throughout the game. Players must then navigate Jason through his hallucinations, in some instances fighting monsters or people who aren't really there.
- If this game were a movie, it would be rated R for Pervasive Strong Bloody Violence and Language, Sexual Content, Nudity, and Drug Material
- Pervasive depiction of drug abuse, manufacturing, etc.
- Many side characters are psychotic drug addicts.
Frightening & Intense Scenes

- The villain of the game's first half, Vaas Montenegro, is a deeply disturbing and frightening character. He is a reckless, violent, sadistic, brutal, unpredictable, cynical, Machiavellian, psychopathic, insane, extremely prideful and remorseless pirate lord with a dark sense of humor and a frighteningly violent personality that makes him feared even by some of his own men. His personality goes on par with that of the Joker, basically.
- Some of the violence can be disturbing.
- Various intense moments including incredibly brutal moments of insanity sometimes taking is even too far.
- Some people may be disturbed when Jason replaces his thumb, hand, or arm to heal himself.
- In one mission, you are stuck in a mass grave of dead bodies and must climb out. Kind of disturbing, because there are faces in your face covered in blood.

Sex & Nudity
- In the bad ending Jason has sex with Citra. This lasts about 10 seconds. Citra is shirtless this whole scene her breasts and nipples visible
- Depending on what ending you choose, Citra will take Jason and tries to seduce him. When Jason tries getting away, she then kills him out of anger. Sexuality of the scene is not graphic at all but the violence is.
Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking
- A mission in the game involves burning down fields of marijuana.
Frightening & Intense Scenes
- Unlike other games, the character knows that the killing is bad, Jason Brody will start going more insane through the killing, wanting to stay on the island.
