Hans Zehner mentioned that a publishing house didn't want to release Ernst von Salomon's first novel "The Outlaws". However his novel was indeed released in the Rowohlt Publishing house in January 1930, one month after he was released from jail. In fact Rowohlt himself inspired him to write the novel.
