Positive surprise

Warning: Spoilers
I must say I am not particularly familiar with the live action Underworld movies. I may have seen the first quite a while ago, but that's it and I don't remember really a lot anymore. "Underworld: Endless War" is an animated 17-minute short film from 4 years ago directed by Juno John Lee. Basically, it is actually a collection of three 5-minute short films that play during very different times, even centuries. It's the old story of vampires vs. werewolves again, or I should probably say Vampires vs. Lycans. A young woman goes against a trio of dangerous Lycan terrorists, one per segment. The makers here were not scared of depicting sexuality and violence in a pretty graphic fashion, which certainly helped the movie. No taboos here. A good watch and I recommend, not only to those who loved the movies. Thumbs up.

Set in the Underworld franchise.

A collection of three short tie-in stories for three Lycan brothers. The short also helped set up the events in the next film in the series, Underworld: Awakening.

Like the story but villains are victims.

Warning: Spoilers
I like the story of whole series but am I the only one who actually doesn't like the main race (vampires) this animation shows us how one of main characters murder 3 brothers one by one, I feel really sorry for them and don't understand why anyone would be on vampire site. Besides pretty Animation and well written plot I really feel missleaded because of that main characters are I wish I didn't bring here one nation from WW2 but they just ruthlessly hunt for lycans just because they are lycans, they brutally kill them and are really glad of doing it, I love the motive of vampires and werewolves but common O shouldn't feel so sorry for antagonists.

Good, but no lasting impact
ossie859 April 2023
The animation of this series is undoubtedly the strongest aspect, with its sleek and stylish visuals capturing the gothic and horror tones of the film franchise effectively. The attention to detail given to the characters and settings is impressive and gives the series a unique look and feel.

However, while the animation is impressive, the story falls short. It's evident that Endless War was produced with the intention of catering to fans of the franchise who are familiar with its characters and mythology. As a result, the series skips out on crucial character development and invests little in world-building beyond what the audience already knows. Without familiarity with the Underworld universe, viewers may find themselves lost and unable to invest in the story.

Additionally, Endless War's short format leaves little room for the story to develop and for the characters to grow. The series concludes quickly, which ultimately leads to a lack of impact. Ultimately, there is little emotional investment for viewers watching these characters, which is a shame as they could have been incorporated in a more profound and interesting way that would have taken advantage of the animation style.

Beautiful romantic comedy. I would easily put this in the top 15 underworld movies.
