Sesame Street It Is Not
Illyngophobia16 August 2016
This fever dream tries its absolute hardest to be Sesame Street; all while maintaining the low budget grittiness of a low budget public access kid show or something you'd find pushed in the back of your local library's VHS tape section.

According to the Lost Media Wiki, the series is partially lost, with no known VHS copies being found online--aside from some clips and random episodes. So if you're looking to add these weirdo gems to your collection, have fun trying.

However, whatever you do find is fun to make into a marathon with your friends, especially if you're a fan of Everything is Terrible. This will surely become your newest favorite "so bad it's good" thing.

A complete failure
Ricardo-362 July 2020
I watched two volumes of this Kafkaesque nightmare turned into "children entertainment" in complete and utter disbelief. There is a reason Jim Henson was a genius and his work and his crew lauded as the best in the industry: it takes a lot of work and talent to do it right. Peppermint Park is what we get when the mediocre or the insane attempt a puppet show: failure, pain, awkwardness and discomfort.

This abomination package of anti-joy has no redeeming values. As an educational piece it's pedantic, condescending at best and criminally irresponsible at worse. As entertainment, it's equivalent to a good children's show as vomit is equivalent to food. The incompetence seems to pile up as "puppets" are overloaded with misery and creepiness, puppet manipulation done with extreme ineptitude, acting is abismal and the general quality horrendous.

This cannot be called art as it fails on every aspect of the term. A bizarre curiosity for those who want to laugh at it, but nothing more. Sadly it exists.

Extremely Underrated. The best Sesame Street Rip-off You'll Ever Watch!
anyasarasa12 February 2017
You're probably here after seeing blameitonjorge's video, "Top 20 Unintentionally Disturbing Kids' Characters from Around the World". So, here I am to give you some info and my opinion on "Peppermint Park".

I love Peppermint Park. It's one of those "it's so bad it's good" kind of shows. It is such a shame that this show is lost. It was released on VHS in the 80's, and it's unknown if there are any surviving copies today. You can find a few videos on YouTube of scenes from certain episodes.

It is notorious for being creepy and a total rip-off of Sesame Street. The puppets look like they are thrown together with anything the creators of the show could find (they look like burn victims), plus some people believe that they all wear gloves so they won't leave DNA evidence on your corpse. Yikes! The music is horrible, with uncreative lyrics, with the Rhino Song being one of the worst. It literally sounds like they could have come up with the lyrics at the last minute. However, the theme song at the beginning is quite catchy.

If anyone out there has a copy of "Peppermint Park", PLEASE convert it to DVD and post the episodes on YouTube. You could also sell it for a high price on the internet, since it is so rare.

As you can imagine, I was absolutely devastated when I found out the episodes were lost. Please bring the genius that is "Peppermint Park" back! It may be creepy and a horrible low-budget kids show, but we all need to watch it! Peppermint Park is a masterpiece!! Peppermint Park "M" Song (video): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MbBNGyk30Yk
