When Sunny gets blue
lor_4 February 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Even worse than another 2011 release on the subject (Jessie Andrews in "Portrait of a Call Girl"), this Sunny Leone video is a rather preposterous look at high-priced prostitution. Leone may be a fan favorite (at least she used to be) but as director she's terrible.

Breanne Benson, who reminded me in the stills of April O'Neil, though far more plastic and phony looking (which fits the role, of course), stars as Breanne, a call girl who advertises and gets much offers for her services. She lives with Sunny, who is a jealous friend anxious to convert Breanne to lesbianism, dominate her and most importantly get her to quit hooking for good.

It takes 3 hours and eight sex scenes to get to the dreary finish, where selfishness triumphs over love and any sort of common sense. The sex footage is perfunctory, and the feature takes on a failed pretentiousness with Breanne's frequent asides to the camera (talking directly to the viewer) to give her point-of-view, as well as patently b.s. "interviews" with the various johns who hire her. It's another Reality-TV corruption of Adult Entertainment, having familiar porn talent pretend to be "real people" unconvincingly. Worst of these is the Animal Bruce Venture, billed as "Ventura" out of sloppiness, handing us a misogynist diatribe after he disobeys Breanne's request by cuming on her face, not on her breasts (sounds like an old M&M commercial).

As sort of an infra dig in-joke, Sunny casts her film editor "Wagnor" as a john who only wants companionship -he being hard-up for anyone who will REALLY listen to his b.s. He mentions in his "interview" about being tired after a long day of editing, presumably referring to this crappy video.

QUASI-SPOILER for STICKLERS:

Worst scene is the finale, as badly directed as any amateur might do. Sunny has warned naive Breanne many a time just what the viewer must be thinking, that being a freewheeling, unaligned prostitute might lead one to a violent end, so it isn't surprising that suspense music suddenly creeps on to the soundtrack when Breanne drives to a remote location to service creepy john Will Powers, perhaps my least favorite of current porn talent.

Powers' sex scene is mundane enough, but end with 3 or 4 sudden edits in which the sleight of hand (poorly executed) has his condom broken, so that he ends up giving Breanne an undesired cream pie. She's angry, since she's not even on the pill, but worse yet he plans to beat her up or kill her. Not to worry, B's screams bring Sunny to the rescue, baseball hat in hand, to rescue her fair maiden. With blooper out-takes as a bonus we see how poorly done this climax was executed, as Sunny's belting him with the bat is as phony as can be.

Breanne gets a black eye but learns nothing from the violent incident, deciding to keep on a'hookin', even though Sunny would gladly pamper her as a kept woman, stay-at-home lesbian instead. And we know Sunny is wealthy from starring in all those porn videos over the years.

Problem with these Adult features about prostitution is likely due to the self-delusions propagated within and by the Adult Entertainment Industry about the drastic difference between whoring and performing in porn videos. Since many performers, including big stars, use the euphemism "escort" to cover some of their other money-making activities, this distinction is largely a fiction. Some are paid to have sex before a camera for future viewing by a horny public, while others have sex with other paid sex workers to be watched live in-person by a wealthy voyeur, or just have sex with that guy for money. Sounds to me like different branches of the same tree. But pretending that "acting" vs. regular prostitution are radically different makes for patently phony exposes of the latter.

# 14 – # 55 : but not the camera of a director

I agree with my pal Lor as it seems we have the same hobby : this Sunny movie is pretty bad : Unlike Lor who focus on the content and did a great job reviewing it, i will pay more attention to the visual and here it's a real disaster : Sunny has everything to do something hot : a strap-on scene, her friend Breanne who is back to brunette but however she totally fails to bring heat : first of all, she organizes 2 scenes in a sofa, the most awful too for sex ! Beyond, she doesn't know how to frame correctly : in wide shoot, she cuts heads ! At middle range, she shoots the back of performers and for sure she abuses over and over of silly close-ups and believe me, it's so close you got the feeling to watch a abstract movie! At the end, you feel cheated because all those superb performers are totally wasted !
