Beautiful, just beautiful

Such a beautiful episode. This entire season was beautifully written, directed, and acted. And this finale was a beautiful ending to a truly beautiful season. Loved Taylor Swift's Seven at the end.

My heart goes to everyone who struggles with their sexuality and coming out to parents. My heart goes to people like Charlie who gets/got bullies and live with the consequences. My heart goes out to people like Charlie that suffer from mental health issues. But there are parents like Nick's and Tao's that are absolute sweethearts. This episode is so important: shows how much Nick cares about Charlie, and how much they love each other, how much Tao loves Elle. Can't wait for the next season.

What a Warm Hug of a Show

I love Heartstopper. I love it even more after finishing season 2. It is such a heartfelt, warm and comforting show, I wish every season had a 100 episodes so that I never had to leave the world of Charlie, Nick and all the others.

Not to get too personal, but: Watching season 2 was almost kind of therapeutic for me in a way. It brought back so many memories, it was all there: the school trips, the getting drunk with your classmates, the parties, all of it. I remember it all from back in the day. I remember how fun and exciting it was - but also how lonely I felt at times, desperately wishing for a Nick or a Charlie by my side. Well, it was different times back in the 90s. Strangely though, reliving it all through the show, but through the eyes of a (happy) gay couple is kind of ... healing, somehow. Like living through the teenage years I always dreamed to have. I know it sounds weird. But that's what I feel. So thanks to the show for giving me that. What a warm hug of a show this is. <3.

Warning: Spoilers
This episode specifically drifts the farthest from the comics, which i like actually. I already read all the comics and it was nice and caught me off guard to see something so new.

They way the finale was executed was beautiful. Although there is one thing i can pick on: the whole season between nick and charlie's relationship was based off of nick coming out to everyone and this was the climax of it: going to prom with your boyfriend. And at the end of the prom scene, charlie mentions that they've been obsessing over the idea of coming out for so long they forgot why they wanted to do it in the first place and then they leave. (so like it was all lead up to the prom and then they just leave because they realize they don't owe coming out to anyone?)

anyway, lovely episode. The last scene broke me and i'm still recovering. I'm so excited to see what's in store for season 3. The only thing i'm worried about is if it will still have a heartstoppery feel to it. By this, i mean having a warm and just queer-happy environment. I could easily see this as going the other way as volumes 4 and 5 are much more darker than volumes 1-3.
