Vivid, honest and beautiful

I saw Motel Drive at the Tucson international film festival. It's a wonderful movie with an honest and touching view of life for people with significant housing, addiction and other challenges. The movie provides both a candid view of the struggles and challenges these people face/endure as well as showing a very human portrait of a few of these individuals over the course of approximately 9 years.

The director provides both a professional and very human understanding as well as the societal factors impacting those who society would rather not see or only dehumanize instead of understanding or even acknowledging their lives.

Highly recommend!

Thought provoking and beautiful

Excellent film portraying the plight of families and individuals struggling with housing, addiction, and financial insecurity.

I was lucky enough to attend a screening in Tucson which hosted a panel afterwards which included state and local experts on housing issues, as well as the director himself. The film brought about thought provoking Q & A, and it was clear that the audience enjoyed the captivating documentary.

Motel Drive itself is a sad part of the American story, but the film was shot in a way that still found the beauty surrounding it, with glimpses of sunrises, interesting perspectives and angles, and the humanity in people that are often overlooked.
