Starts out like a thriller but gets to your heart

The first scene of this short movie is electrifying--this is where we first meet our three main characters, but we have no idea what their motivation is. Films like this amaze me in that they can have such a powerful effect in only 30 minutes; it's like all the dead time in the middle of regular-length movies has been cut out and only the meat of the story and the gradual reveal of the characters' back stories and motivations remain.

The subject is a poignant one, and the audience is introduced to each character at an appropriate pace. The characters first seem as dissimilar as can be, but through beautiful cinematography and the director's deft hand at picking shots for maximum emotional effect, we learn of how they came together and what their plans are. I soon felt very strongly that I did not want the group to succeed, and the thriller aspect of this movie is maintained until the very last scene, where we the audience are not sure whether they have achieved their goals or not.

This is a beautiful movie, and even though it is somewhat emotionally wrenching I will watch it again and recommend it to all my friends. I've never given any movie a 10, not even my all-time favorites: Godfather 2, Annie Hall, etc. I'm waiting for that one perfect movie, and I may never see it, but this little gem comes close.
