In 1867 Professor Moritz Antscherl and many other Jews of his generation became Austro-Hungarian citizens and abandoned Fatherland. Only an old man remembers them. The cemetery keeper. One day he finds a young man from Barcelona who appears amid the tombstones of his ancestors... as a shoot sprouting on alien roots. The story is a crossing to liberty, maybe enhanced by the effects of eau-de-vie.
