I've just watched this episode for the second time, and it confirms for me that it is one of the best episodes of the series. The storyline involving the delivery of a baby on a Swedish ship was so beautifully done and fascinating. When Sister Evangelina and Trixie have to climb aboard the rope ladder in the middle of the night, I was holding my breath. What an adventure, funny and heartwarming at the same time.

Two incredibly powerful cases with very different outcomes. This episode the had to expectant mothers In impossible circumstances. One became stronger while the other became increasingly weaker.
All the children involved ultimately end up in a better place than where they started.
Jenny, Evangelina and Trixie are the midwives involved with the two cases.
Evangelina is openly not impressed by Trixie and Trixie dreads having Evangelina on this unexpected call instead of Jenny but ultimately Trixie rises to the occasion.
The series is particularly unflinching at this point at showing the darker side of humanity but there are always the more inspirational side as well.
