Sometimes extremely funny
Spiritus3328 January 2023
Because this concerns the Dutch version, also a short Dutch review (Dutch wasn't allowed). The concept looks and sometimes feels a bit American. But it's a pretty interesting human study. It sometimes feels a bit uncomfortable at home on the couch, because are you really going to laugh at situations where no one is smiling on the screen?

But the comments from the actual players make it a pretty funny concept. The two acts by Bas Hoeflaak really stand out and truth be told we almost choked on the couch laughing.

They are short episodes but we binged it to the end. You remain fascinated to see who is the next to laugh and those moments you completely die laughing yourself.

Probably too tiring to watch multiple seasons, because it is hard work. But in a fun way.

Went from hilarious to extremely painful to watch
Pigxie2 February 2023
This is the perfect example of why humour can't be forced. In the first few episodes I really enjoyed this show, but in the end you could just feel the discomfort of the contestants, which made it really hard to watch.

Nevertheless I enjoyed their creativity and the variation of acts, and the group dynamic was really funny at the beginning. I loved that every contestant was such a big personality and to me they were all funny in their own ways. Shout-out to the hilarious chemistry between Henry and Bas, and to everyone imitating the way Stefano talks.

I would definitely recommend watching this if you want to go from 'HAHAHA' to 'yikes' in a very short period of time.

Great concept, great people
jochemunlimited3 February 2023
First a disclaimer: I am Dutch, I know the persons. I know what they can do and how they think. That makes it way more fun, because after this I watched the Australian version and it not funny at all...

I like the concept that you must not laugh. Comedians should not laugh about their own jokes, but I also like the battles when they are one on one and trying to make the other laugh. And I like bloopers a lot, the spontaneous laugh. And word jokes by the way...

So there are no bloopers unfortunality but the battles are there! And there are some very creative actions to try to make the other laugh. I dare say that each comedian is a their best! When I watched most people seperate and for an hour + performing I do not like them much. But here they have short bursts, like Henri, I do not like his solo show. But I lke all his performances in shows, series and everything else on tv. Same goes for other persons.

I like the sketches that they do and I also like that the 'jury' is pushing them and making it harder. And they really see every laugh. I like it. And I have really respect for not laughing, it must be really hard!

I like also that the episodes are really short and you can watch everything in one sit. It should not take longer I think. And I also like they lead the show with 2 persons. I really must laugh out loud when there is something very funny but you cannot laugh... The tention of this is really another dimension. I like it.

So again, I had some great laughs, I still feel my eyes afterwards from crying. I hope they can do another season with this much quality. Taking comedian out of their comfort zone!

And after seeing Australia I am totally convinced the 9 is well deserved! And I want to see a Belgian version by the way.

I actually LOLLED
dmr14030 January 2023
This was both fun and interesting! Just alone Bas performing with his flute was totally worth it to watch this. So was the awkward situation where everyone started to imitate Stefano. And many other moments that where truly funny. Great group, funny format and well executed. Compared to the Last One Laughing from other countries, it looks like some improvements to this format where added like the graphics that look much better. Looking forward to season 2. I hope other Dutch comedians are brave enough to join other seasons because it has potential, but it's depending on the comedians that are joining. And also the chemistry.

The women??
Frinklysprinklywrinkly4 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
First of all I wanna say that I am a woman and a don't mean any sexist comments with this review.

The men in the show can be very funny, but I don't know how they chose the women in their show because it seems like it's hard for them to crack an actually funny joke.

In season one Tineke Schouten was the only funny woman on the show with real humor that people actually laughed at. The other women were influencers with no comedian experience aside from making "funny sketches" on the internet that are not even funny.

In season 2 I don't know what they did but they're worse. There's Soumaya that is just their as a roomplant, Anniek that's just screaming all the time as a method to not laugh but It's rather just annoying to others.

Therefore I hope that if season 3 comes that they actually use funny women because this is just rather upsetting and embarrassing.

Waiting for the 'fun' to start
thijsdeback4 February 2023
I binged this show in one evening. That said. I had no fun at all watching this and it seems I wasted my time waiting for the fun to start. If this is the best Dutch comedians have to offer.. Don't waste your time watching this show. There are really only a few funny moments which aren't even that funny. The target of the show is to let the other comedians laugh while they actually get banned from the room (after two times) when they do laugh. This makes for an interesting concept, but despite the interesting concept this works out, in the Dutch version at least, as a very trivial, random and not fun at all show.

Not funny at all
Lucas-70-33954428 January 2023
Laughing is a group thing, so when laughing is forbidden for the contestants, it is like seeing a standup comedian with an impossible audience. Therefore I think it is not funny to watch. Perhaps for the comedians it is amusing, but not for me as a viewer of the show.

It would work if there was an audience watching the show. Also it would be more if a challenge for the contestants. The atmosphere at times was killing and not amusing. I have not seen the show in other countries / languages. In this format in Dutch it also does not work, because the hosts are Belgians and the contestants are Dutch.

Not as good as i thought it would be
charlton190419 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
First off i am dutch.

This concept had great things coming.

For me, half of the people are great, but the other half are so bad that it was more cringe then fun and laughing.

Bas Hoeflaak was great! It was sad that Ruben van der Meer had to go so soon and at the same time with Tineke Schouten.

I have never heard about Soundos Al Ahmadi, she was funny now and then. But on the first episode she made the comment that she needs no intro because she is an A-list.

That made me want to see her leave from start, why? Because there are absolute dutch comedy legends present and saying such thing is a no-go for me.

But in the end. This is the way i experience it and i hope other people have an different point of experience and have fun watching this.

My rating is because there is more cringe than laughter and maybe it is my type off humor.

As always Amazon killing the legacy of Documental
alamarques8 January 2024
Not even remotely funny. Just like all the 50 other versions worldwide. No build up to a joke, no timing, bald uncle trying to force uncle "comedy" every second and bombing forever, white blade cosplayer singing dumb songs, women being women with vagina "jokes" only. PLUS, the editing adds sound effects like "BOINK" and kids laughter in a hopeless attempt to make that one demented granny in your living room giggle while she plays bingo. LOL is a murder to comedy and even Documental should be ashamed to sell the rights for all those trashy copies.

Watching your family die in front of you has more chances of making you laugh than this and all the other LOL garbage Amazon keeps forcing. Focus on the original japonese show instead of censoring it and milking the worldwide dead cow known as Last One Laughting.
