- Bunker 6 is a 78-minute dramatic science fiction thriller filmed on location in the Debert Diefenbunker, Nova Scotia. Grace has called the nuclear fall out shelter #6 her home since the atomic bombs went off 10 years ago. When her mentor and father figure Lewis, the bunker's technician, dies she's left to take charge. As things begin to breakdown around her and murders start to happen she must struggle not just to survive, but to live. For Grace thoughts of the outside world beyond the heavy blast doors of the bunker could be her demise and to all those who remain with her.—Anonymous
- In a tension-plagued geopolitical environment, the Russians drop a nuclear bomb on October 30, 1962 on North American soil. A small group of people are able to take refuge in the many bunkers close to the bomb site to get away from the nuclear fallout. Fast forward approximately ten years. In Bunker 6, the red warning light is still on, meaning that it is still unsafe to go outside. Grace, Alice, Eric and Joe, who have basically grown up in the bunker, and older Mary are the five left alive inside, many of the deaths of the other residents self-inflicted as suicides or murder-suicides within families in an inability to cope. Despite their two way radio functioning, they have had no contact with anyone in ten years. With certain supplies required for life about to run out, they have to decide what to do. Alice, the controlling one, will do anything for her own survival, which to her means trusting the red light. Eric ruminates about whether their systems are truly functioning and whether they should venture outside. This type of talk, in Alice's mind, would constitute mutiny in Eric's wants at the certain deaths of the others. Grace, who has conducted the routine checks over the years and thus probably knows the mechanical and electrical workings of the bunker better than anyone, may have had the most difficult time in the bunker watching her parents being killed just outside the doors just when they were locked ten years ago. Lewis, the man who was her father figure inside, has just died. As such, she is the scared one: scared to be inside, scared to see if there is life outside. Who ends up making the decision at this crucial time may come down to who can best manipulate the others and thus control the situation. Or is there something bigger at play going on?—Huggo
