GOLD is Golden
thealisonjames6 March 2013
Kirsten, a flippant, competitive young woman gets tossed from a motorcycle and loses the use of her legs...

Kurt, outrageously funny and fiercely courageous, born with tiny legs, but in no way 'disabled...'

Henry, a soft spoken deep thinker, who woke up one morning unable to see...

These are the three heroes of GOLD whose lives are exposed before the camera with bracing honesty. Kirsten, from Germany, swims with amazing beauty; Henry, from Kenya, keeps running, even when his guide collapses from exhaustion; Kurt, from Australia, forces astonishing speeds out of a racing wheelchair.

The film is documentary because of the truth it is telling, but its heart is all story--three stories of three athletes who defy assumptions about their limitations and plow their way to the London Paralympics. It is a laugh-out-loud, cry silently, and change the very way you think kind of film. Entertainment the whole way through, but entertainment with a powerful punch.
