"Hanni und Nanni 3" from roughly two years ago is the so far last and probably final entry to this new "Hanni and Nanni" franchise which started in 2010. The twin actresses are 17 right now and there is no sign of a fourth movie. Again, this one here is based on Enid Blyton's work and characters and the script comes from Christoph Silber, who also already worked on the second movie. The director is Dagmar Seume this time. The trilogy had another director for each film, but constantly used females as this is obviously very female-centered looking at the cast and also the main target group were probably young girls. Seume did some short film work before and also directed Annette Frier in "Danni Lowinski".

However, this movie is probably more about males than any of the two previous film. Schöneberger, Thalbach, von Borsody and Elsner return, but we also have Konstantin Wecker and Justus von Dohnányi in the cast this time. Apart from that, a group of British school boys comes to the Lindenhof school and makes the girls' hearts beat faster. Mägerlein and Theobald get love interests with some support by their students, but unfortunately Bertoux has no French prince waiting for her. oh well, at least she gets a rat to give her company. And as if that was not already enough, there is trouble with unintentionally colored hair, there may be a ghost hiding at the school somewhere and the gang also has to prepare an upcoming play of "Romeo and Juliet" which they want to present to their parents. This play is also the ending to the movie (and series?) and I really enjoyed. Such a great idea to have the protagonists put up a show like that and a much better choice than simply using LaFee as it was done in the second movie.

This film is slightly shorter than the second and a bit longer than the first and also quality-wise pretty much on par with the two previous films. None of them was really great, but all were a good entertaining time at the movies. Recommended.
