Simply Fine Necessities was in production at the same time as Terry Linehan's feature film Don't Know Yet (2013) which Wills was a production assistant on. There is a DKY poster in the background of the office scene.
In the original Simply Fine Necessities YouTube sketch Wills tries to sell a Mighty Morphin Power Rangers wallet. The same wallet is visible in a majority of the scenes in this short film.
In the scene where Russell is talking to a potential buyer, Chris Vickery's character, Samson, can be seen in the background sneaking into Russell's car.
This short film is based off of two YouTube videos Wills Maxwell Jr. made in 2010. These videos (also titled "Simply Fine Necessities") featured Wills as an incompetent infomercial host.
