Warning: Spoilers
The penultimate episode really had to set things up for the finale.

The focus is on both Maya and Detective Inspector Sami Kierce. How both their personal storylines merge.

The investigative journalist Corey Rudzinski while a suspect. Tells Sami of his belief that Burkett pharmaceuticals were falsifying drug trials of its various side effects. Using threats and murder to silence whistleblowers.

Sami's medication is from Burkett pharmaceuticals. He has been suffering from the various side effects of his medication.

As for Maya. She learns just what her husband Joe was like from childhood. Just what her mother in law's company was capable of.

Maya tells Shane Tessier the truth. What happened on that fateful day in the mission where the car was blown up and civilians died.

Shane is also puzzled how the same gun that killed Maya's sister could had killed her husband as well.

I did like how Sami's own trauma was explained. It had a kind of The Sixth Sense about it.

You would think the police would had realised before Shane as to the gun question. That Joe killed her sister. Maya used the same gun to later kill Joe.

As for the final episode. Will Sami get to Maya before she can gets to her mother in law's family?

Incredible.

Maya continues to chat with Christopher Swain, and discovers some uncomfortable truths about her husband. Maya agrees to meet Shane to discuss what exactly happened Kierce arrests Corey for Tommy Dark's murder.

This penultimate episode had me absolutely captivated from beginning to end, top notch, edge of the seat, gripping drama, this was absolutely phenomenal, I'd be so bold as to say the best episode so far.

Plenty of action, lots to keep you entertained, what struck me,. The sheer quality of the writing, how do many small things, seemed to have a big significance.

Some very powerful moments in this episode, that moment where Maya is forced to listen to what she husband supposedly did, was incredible, Keegan was awesome, Anthony Howell, considering he's something of a bit part player, he really delivered.

That rooftop scene had me absolutely riveted, even though you had a fair idea what was going to happen, it was so uncomfortable.

I've praised Adeel Akhtar throughout, but here, I thought they were all brilliant.

10/10.

"Episode #1.7"

A stunningly good episode - maybe the best one yet - full of dramatic revelations that cast plenty of the main characters of 'Fool Me Once' in a brand new light. I was absolutely riveted from beginning to end. What a tense, taut and dramatic roller-coaster ride of an episode.

Importantly, we finally get an answer to the question that has plagued Maya - and all of us watching along - since the first moment she saw her apparently-dead husband on the nanny cam. Or do we? With another episode left, I'm not taking anything for granted.

Nothing in a episode full of big shocks is quite as shocking as the final carpark scenes - but is that even what really happened? At this point, who knows?

The best episode so far

Warning: Spoilers
The best episode in this Netflix limited series so far.

I binge watch shows while actively avoiding spoilers on the internet. It's just what I do because I hate having to wait!

This penultimate episode has everything you could possibly want. Tension, drama, and intrigue aplenty.

Although the revelation that Joe killed Claire, and that Maya then killed Joe was fairly obvious from the start (although I didn't know the reason why), it was still extremely dramatic.

A plethora of red herrings throughout the whole series definitely did not detract from the overall story, although like other excellent Harlan Coben shows on Netflix it could have been 6 episodes instead of 8.

A few Americanisms crept their way into the script, which I suppose was to appeal to the USA, but as the show is set in the UK, these should have been weeded out; after all, Google is available to all to look up things/words that appear foreign to the viewer.

The cast was excellent. The writing/direction; everything was great.

Emmett J Scanlan seems to look younger with every passing year. Michelle Keegan was amazing, and Dame Joanna Lumley provided the most awesome performance (throughout the whole series).
