Cory's arrogance
kostargr-4663918 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Cory's arrogance is out of control, I think he needs to learn his place. Pretty stupid of Stella to tell him about Paul's offer after the conversation she had with Mia. Paul is letting his emotions for Alex to control him, that is pretty old-fashioned act for a billionaire. Bradley doesn't have an actual role this season, she had a promotion but after that she's pampering her annoying brother and still is Cory's sidekick. We have 3 episodes left since season finale I would love to see Cybil again the new board president is soft and dull. What Chris wrote on the bathroom wall and posted it would definitely come back and haunt her. So well scripted how the law about abortions is ridiculous.

Getting better and better!
gabrielmikhno18 October 2023
I loved this episode! It kept building up and up many plot threads and grounding the characters in interesting ways.

I love how we saw Cory's mother and the relationship between them! It was interesting and showed us how Cory and Bradley can relate in family situations.

I'm loving the fact that Alex is finally happy with someone! She has gone through so much in the past seasons and it's nice that she found someone she likes! I mean there is still a lot of drama around that relationship, but still.

I'm really curious with the Stella, Cory, and Paul business drama. Wondering what Stella will end up doing.

Personally, I feel like this show can't decide what type of genre it wants to be. Is it a satire, soap opera, drama, comedy? I don't know. But either way it manages to create an enjoyable watching experience that I'm currently in love with! I hope the next 3 episodes get better and lead up to an awesome finale!

Episode 307
bobcobb30125 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
We get the usual dynamic of Cory and his mother having issues, issues they attempted to go a lot deeper on but never really seemed to deliver. This show is never hiding the fact that it does love cliches and soapy plotlines and is not going to stop, but they need some substance behind them. The Cory and Bradley dynamic here simply did not work.

It was not a terrible episode, but something about the show is just losing traction right now. They need more storylines than Alex and her love life and the sale of UBA because that is not nearly enough to keep viewers hooked in this age of "peak" television.

Best series yet

Lindsay Duncan guest stars in The Morning Show Season 3 Episode 7, "Strict Scrutiny," which delves into Cory's complex family history and the awkward relationship between him and his friend Bradley. The show must label their relationship as it becomes increasingly weird each week, leaving little hint of what the two mean to each other. Cory's damaged relationship with his mother is a common issue for a man like him. However, the presence of Martha Ellison, a political strategist and former press secretary for Geraldine Ferraro, adds depth to the situation. Ellison has been questioning the Department of Justice about the upcoming UBA/Paul Marks deal, focusing on her son's attention. Her petty, sharp-edged comments on the deal, such as cooking lobsters, are a unique trait only found in wealthy and powerful individuals. Her offhanded reference to aborting her son while he's standing in front of her is a unique aspect of Ellison's character. The relationship between Cory and Martha is a complex one, with Martha guilt tripping Cory about his dad's departure and Cory insisting she stop meddling in his business affairs. Martha also has misconceptions about her son's relationship with Bradley, which is insane. She is disappointed when Bradley tries it again with Laura. She may see something of herself in Laura, as she was impressed by Bradley's decision to go public with her abortion. However, we are only given a brief glimpse of her interior life, like many other characters on The Morning Show. Martha insists her son deserves to be alone and tells Bradley that Cory is probably manipulating her. Cory's voice is absent throughout most of the story, but he finally apologizes to Bradley for not being there when her mom died. The "meet your boyfriend's mom" vibes are interesting, as they haven't talked about their relationship for over two years. It's nice to get a legitimate glimpse of what either of them is thinking about the other, as they haven't managed to talk about their situation for the better part of two years. Paul and Alex are building a healthy relationship, spending a weekend together and sharing details about their lives. They are divorced workaholics who are wary of romantic involvement, and their relationship is sweet and mature. They agree to be cordial and friendly at the UBA gala event with Valentino, but a tabloid captures a photo of them looking intimate on Alex's terrace, forcing them to confront labeling their relationship. Paul suggests they release a statement stating they are grown adults in a happy consenting relationship or pay the outlet to kill the story. Alex opts for the latter, and Paul tries to buy the tabloid to kill the story. However, the photo is published anyway, pushing Paul to tell Alex he wants more than a weekend hookup. They kiss, just as Chip arrives outside her office to catch them in the act.

Going backwards
Kante202218 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This show was better before- it was refreshing initially and now it is just like everything else on tv- upping all the usual for ratings and actually it was better kept simple. Sadly no comparison to previous seasons and think will abandon. Paul Marks character is very good, doing his best with a random enough story line- feels like it's trying too hard to be current and no longer enjoyable to watch. Also so much work done by main stars makes for distracting viewing. Aniston is a beauty and needs nothing but unfortunately find it a little hard to watch the scenes as her face looks very strange.

Just don't care enough
erosejohn19 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I really like this show. A lot. But this season is just barely hanging on. The show feels more full of itself than ever and this episode ... I kept finding myself saying "so what?" I just don't care about the storylines enough. And what was the deal with Cory's mom? The piano scene was hella awkward and then the backlash afterwards just made no sense (and I'm plenty familiar with dysfunctional families). As much as I want to like Stella, I just don't. This thing is forcing me to type a certain amount of characters but that's all I have to say. Get with the program, Morning Show. Pick a plotline and go with it.

Hate the politics
wilkinson-five19 October 2023
This is probably the last episode I (we) watch. My wife and I are both tired of the slanted politics. I guess I shouldn't be surprised with anything coming out of the entertainment industry. There is zero effort to show why someone might have a different perspective on the subjects of today. "News" alert...if you look at the big picture ...the viewing public has different views of the world's issues ...why not provide something for everyone? Echo chamber themes ...no creativity or skill needed for that. Then to make it even worse .... There are no more like-able characters...anyone that one may have appreciated along the way manages to do something to change one's mind.... I'm out...
