From The Beef to The Boss – Jeremy Allen White might be stepping into the shoes of one of music’s all-time-greats. In recent years, the actor has received considerable acclaim for his central role in The Bear, following it up with wrestling hit The Iron Claw, and a Calvin Klein campaign that sent the internet into meltdown. And while The Bear is back in production on Season 3, White may next be set to play none other than Bruce Springsteen.
Reports indicate that White is in talks for the role in Deliver Me From Nowhere – not a full-on Bruce biopic, but a film specifically zoning in on the creation of his 1982 album Nebraska. Released as Springsteen’s fame was rocketing – it landed between smash double-album The River, and hit-packed behemoth Born In The USA – Nebraska was a total change of pace for the musician, a stripped-down acoustic album recorded on 4-track,...

Bruce Springsteen movie in the works from director Scott Cooper with Jeremy Allen White eyed to star
Isn’t it about time we had a movie about The Boss? Following rumours earlier this year, Deadline reports that Scott Cooper (The Pale Blue Eye) is set to direct a movie about Bruce Springsteen, with Jeremy Allen White (The Bear) reportedly the top choice to star. Negotiations with White haven’t yet begun, but talks are underway with A24 to make the movie.
Titled Deliver Me From Nowhere, the movie will be about “Bruce Springsteen and the long effort to put together his seminal Nebraska album, which started to take shape as he and the E Street Band were laying down tracks for his massive hit album Born in the USA.” It will be an adaptation of Deliver Me from Nowhere: The Making of Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska by Warren Zanes, which was published last year.

The Boss is back, as 74-year-old Bruce Springsteen returned to the concert stage this week in Phoenix after postponing his world tour last September.
But in an interview with SiriusXM’s E Street Radio host Jim Rotolo, Springsteen said the peptic ulcer disease that sidelined him had him concerned he might not be able to sing again.
“Once I started singing, you know, you can rehearse singing, but your voice isn’t the same in rehearsal. You don’t have that edge of adrenaline that really pushes it into a better place and the thing when I had the stomach problem, one of the big problems was I couldn’t sing,” Springsteen said.
“You sing with your diaphragm. My diaphragm was hurting so badly that when I went to make the effort to sing, it was killing me, you know? So, I literally couldn’t sing at all, you know,...

Just one day after phoning into E Street Radio and promising fans a more varied setlist on this leg of the tour, Bruce Springsteen took the stage at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and delivered on that promise. The surprises began when he opened up the show with the 1992 deep cut “Roll of the Dice,” which he hadn’t played in seven years. They continued later in the set when he broke out “Hungry Heart” and “Racing in the Street” for the first time since returning to the road...

“The Boss,” Bruce Springsteen, is easily one of the most iconic living artists in music with hits like “Streets of Philadelphia,” “Dancing in the Dark” and “Born to Run,” among many others. Such a strong career has warranted a lot of awards attention, so it’s no wonder that the Boss has racked up an impressive 20 Grammys, the most for a rock soloist.

Before the dual strikes this year, Faux Library Studio Props in North Hollywood would typically fill up to 20 trucks a day that were picking up props for big Hollywood TV and film projects like “Top Gun: Maverick.” But now, CEO Marc Meyer says the company only sees one truck picking up props — for a TV commercial.
Faux Library Studio Props’ revenue has since dropped from about $150,000 a month to only $10,000, Meyer told TheWrap, and he laid off all 14 of his employees back in June. “If the actors strike is not resolved in a short time, we may be forced to sell some props,” he said. “It is straining my resources to the snapping point.”
Over the past six months, economic losses related to the Hollywood labor disputes have surpassed $6 billion nationally, Kevin Klowden, global strategist at the Milken Institute, estimated. Los Angeles accounts for nearly half of those losses, while...

While most know Mick Jagger as the lead singer of The Rolling Stones, he has had a successful career as a solo artist. However, his solo work doesn’t garner the same attention as the Stones. Still, his name is enough of a pull for certain people, except guitarist Keith Richards. Keith Richards believed Mick Jagger wasn’t great without The Rolling Stones and hated one of his solo albums.

Goddess in the Doorway is the fourth solo album released by Mick Jagger in 2001. The album received positive reviews from critics and was a minor hit on the charts, reaching No. 39 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and No. 44 on the U.K. Albums chart. Ask most 20-year-old women about their celebrity crushes, and you’ll likely hear a name along the lines of Harry Styles or Timothée Chalamet. Not Olivia Rodrigo. Record shopping with Vogue to promote her upcoming sophomore album Guts, the young pop superstar revealed that’s she’s got her eye on Bruce Springsteen.
Rodrigo got on the topic of The Boss after discovering a live album of his from 1984. “He’s my biggest celebrity crush of all time,” she announced upon detection. Dubbed Porn In The USA, the record featured Springsteen in a sweatband and t-shirt emblazoned with the words, “Warning! Springsteen may not be every Gen Zer’s crush, but Rodrigo has made it clear that she has a wide-ranging music taste.
This record contains noises of an explicit nature that may be offensive and should not be played in the presence of minors.” Naturally, Rodrigo concluded, “Yeah, you’re coming home with me.”

In 1986, The Rolling Stones released the album Dirty Work. The title was fitting. Making the album was a dirty, painful process that left the band furious with one another. For Keith Richards, Mick Jagger was the primary problem. He was working to promote his debut solo album, She’s the Boss, and shirked his responsibility to the band. As a result, Richards wrote several songs about his stormy relationship with Jagger.
The Rolling Stones released an album at a low point in band relations
After over two decades of working together, Richards’ relationship with Jagger reached a breaking point. Jagger prioritized his solo album above Dirty Work, which the Stones’ guitarist found unforgivable.
“By the time we gathered in Paris to record Dirty Work in 1985, the atmosphere was bad,” Richards wrote in his memoir Life. “The sessions had been delayed because Mick was working on his solo album, and now he was busy promoting it.

Los Angeles, July 2 (Ians) Bruce Springsteen, “the Boss”, revealed that he knew his best-known song had something special about it, but he could never have imagined where it took his career, reports ‘Female First UK’.
Recalling working on the 1984 album of the same name and its 1982 predecessor ‘Nebraska’, he told Mojo magazine: “I mean, the bottom line is I’ve had to deal with the fact that those albums are both the signs of my creative capacity and my creative life. Which has caused me some consternation over the years. Like, whoa, I feel really comfortable in here, but then I want to go out there too.”
“That part of my work life is just something that I got used to. As soon as we recorded (the song) ‘Born In The USA’, I knew the record was going to be some kind of a hit. It just sounded like one.

You wouldn't know it from the couple's social media platforms, but Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone have the coolest kids on the planet. The comedy duo - who refrain from posting about their kids on social media aside from rare photos where their faces are obscured - have had their fair share of funny moments on screen, but their two daughters, Vivian and Georgette, are just as funny - if not more - say the couple.
"It's a balancing act. Kids are really smart," McCarthy told People at the 2016 premiere of "The Boss." "They pick up on everything and then you still have to not laugh in front of them as you tell them that something's not appropriate, or something might be too aggressive. Then, when they leave the room . . ."
"You laugh really hard," Falcone chimed in.

Working: What We Do All Day is a documentary directed by Caroline Suh.
The presence of Barack Obama is the main attraction in this documentary series about normal people and the matter that keeps us busy most of the day: working and making the world, in some strange way, keep turning around (even though deep down it doesn’t need us at all).
The former president takes a tour around the United States and engages with its people, from hotel employees to executives, from the first to the last, on a journey to, as he says, know why we are connected.
As Michelle Obama already did, it is now Barack, the former president, who makes his foray into the world of television, also by the hand of Netflix, to take us to a journey that is not extravagant, not vulgar at all and certainly singular.

Gurinder Chadha's coming-of-age comedy hits all the right notes - and not just in terms of its Bruce Springsteen soundtrack. It's 1987 and Javed has high hopes of being a writer. When a friend (Aaron Phagura) turns him on to The Boss, Javed becomes his No.1 fan and.uses the music for inspiration. Underpinned by the engaging memoir by Sarfraz Manzoor, from which it is adapted, this is a pacy consideration of teenage life of the period that tackles more serious considerations of the racism and prejudice of the period lightly but effectively.
The Son, Amazon Prime
Anne-Katrin Titze writes: The center of Florian Zeller’s intergenerational drama, The Son, adapted from his play Le Fils by Christopher Hampton, is occupied by a cypher. Nicholas (Zen McGrath) is 17 and lives with his mother Kate in Brooklyn.

Bruce Springsteen has penned an original song for Rebecca Miller’s new film “She Came to Me,” which will have its world premiere at the Berlin Film Festival this week.
The song, “Addicted to Romance,” was written and performed by Springsteen, and will be heard by audiences for the first time during the movie’s Feb. 16 screening, when it plays over the end credits.
Romantic comedy “She Came to Me” stars Peter Dinklage as a moody classical composer struggling with writer’s block. When he meets a quirky tugboat captain (Marisa Tomei), he finds the muse for his next opus and is encouraged by his therapist wife (Anne Hathaway) to make his big comeback. But just as his career looks to take off, his personal life implodes.

Backstreets, the respected Bruce Springsteen fanzine, is calling it quits to protest the “dynamic pricing” that has led to sky-high concert ticket costs.
“After 43 years of publishing in one form or another, by fans for fans of Bruce Springsteen, it’s with mixed emotions that we announce Backstreets has reached the end of the road,” publisher and editor-in-chief Christopher Phillips wrote in an editorial.
Backstreets began publishing in 1980, and became a go-to resource for insider information on The Boss and his plans. It had an international circulation and was fan-run.
“If you read the editorial Backstreets published last summer in the aftermath of the U.S. ticket sales, you have a sense of where our heads and hearts have been: dispirited, downhearted, and, yes, disillusioned. It’s not a feeling we’re at all accustomed to while anticipating a new Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band tour,” Phillips wrote.

Kino’s Noir boxes offer interesting noir-adjacent crime and mystery pix. This seventh return to the well of darkness brings up the organized crime ‘meller’ Chicago Confidential with Brian Keith and the more ambitious The Boss, starring John Payne and written by Dalton Trumbo. The third show The Fearmakers is a real oddity. Starring Dana Andrews and directed by Jacques Tourneur, it’s a political conspiracy tale about manipulating opinions with fraudulent polls. It sounds a lot like the fractured state of modern America, 65 years later. With commentaries by Jason A. Ney and Alan K. Rode.

In God's Favorite Idiot, Mid level Tech support employee Clark Thompson finds love with co-worker Amily Luck at exactly the same time he becomes the unwitting messenger of God. There's also roller skating, a lake of fire and an apocalypse, too. This looks like they went all out with the religious imagery. Standing in a secluded lane just off Madrid’s main motorway to North-West Spain, the chalet, with its well-trimmed garden, black slate roof and tall, spiked-fence wall, looks as if it would be more in place in a rural estate rather than in a metropolitan city. It also instantly signals a home of the very well-heeled establishment under dictator Francisco Franco.

Life in Serenity is looking anything but serene these days. Netflix on Friday released the official trailer for Sweet Magnolias‘ upcoming second season, and the ladies are drowning in drama — and margaritas, thankfully.
The two-minute preview of the new season offers a taste of what’s in store for Maddie, Dana Sue and Heather, including: Maddie growing closer to Cal, while still finding time to put Bill in his place (multitasking at its finest!); Dana Sue struggling to choose between Jeremy and Ronnie (a win-win if you ask us); and Helen coming to terms with her own feelings for Erik.
