It is impossible to "remove" a reflection from glass after a photo has been taken. You need a circular polarising lens filter to effectively remove a reflection before the photo is taken. You definitely cannot add information to a photo that isn't they're in the first place.
The hand plane tool that Gibbs uses has no blade on the bottom. He's essentially rubbing two pieces of wood together.
