WPC number 56 Gina Dawson joins The Brinford Constabulary, her ride is far from easy. She arrives during a troubled time, the body of a teenager is found, and her friendly bus conductor is accused of attacking a young woman.
A good start, I enjoyed it, and there is definitely a bit of truth to events here, racist abuse, poverty, and oodles of chauvinism, I guessed at three minutes before she was asked to make the tea, I wasn't too far wrong.
Jennie Jacques is really good as the new girl, she played it just right, she wasn't over the top, or too subtle, she played it just right.
Sergeant Fenton has instantly become the villain of the piece, not a totally dissimilar role to thr one he played in The Last Detective with Peter Davison.
It looks very nice, good costumes, nice cars, I tried to find anachronisms, but couldn't.
Good start, 7/10.
