Captures a particular Clapton

Just full disclosure, I saw this in the theatre and everyone was 30 feet tall and awesome.

This concert film captures Clapton in a not so popular period. Maybe they call it his Armani period, I don't know. It seems Clapton is celebrated most from 1966-1977;1994-present. The 80s and early 90s seem to be skipped by most fans.

It was amazing to see Eric in his mid forties playing just 10/10 guitar. Everyone looks super cool, especially Nathan East.

Songs were great with many of the favorites plus some 80s gems that I am just currently beginning to appreciate. The finale was outstanding. I won't say what song he ends on, but you can probably guess. And it's actually the penultimate song, so you probably can't guess.

In short, if you're a Clapton fan, you'll love this concert film. If you're not, we'll why would you watch it anyway?

The Annual Dust Up!!!!

Just to follow up on my friend Cossy-Costello review I thought the movie was quite good.

I have been a n EC fan since the mid seventies. First listening to Cream, Blind Faith and his early solo albums.

I became his biggest fan and also his biggest critic. Generally disappointed with his solo albums in the late 70s and 80s always hoping for that fire from his Cream days. Like Cossy I too have come to appreciate these albums in my lster years.

But I thought that 24 nights was a period where EC was beginning to embrace his blues roots and stinging guitar leads. The film gives you an upclose view of his magical finger work whether it be a rocking song or a melodic song such as Wonderful tonight (always a P break for me at his concerts).

Not to drag this on but this film is for EC fans for sure. I enjoyed it and I particularly liked Buddy Guy and his on stage antics. He had everyone cracking up. Including myself. I have the original album and will get the 6 CD box set. What else am I supposed to do????

EC is and will always be my main man!!!
