Poor acting skills
forsaradab7 May 2023
Sometimes I wonder what makes a film worthy to watch! The main ingredients are story, direction and the cast Although direction is at it's finest, but the acting is so weak, from the lead actor to the side actors everyone is acting casual,no involvement to the core character. That's just upsetting. Else, the story is very neatly knotted, loved the evolved version of Feluda with lil bit action. Another thing I didn't like is the scenes, the majestic Beauty of Sikkim didn't get justice. The cinematography is not upto the mark. It could have been much better. So 2star goes to the direction,2stars to editing and 3 stars for the well evolved story.

A good story with some bad casts
debdipnarayan5 May 2023
Feluda adventure series is full of thrilling stories. And this webseries is based on famous story of Gangtok e Gondogol. We can see a modernised adaption of Feluda series by Arindam Shil. Mr. Shil's touch has covered up little bit of short comings in the series. Using original Nepali language in the series without changing it to Bengali or Hindi, left a very good impression. We have seen many popular block buster series or movies where few Russian talked between them in Hindi. This always adds pretty bad note. Talking about acting, Topse and Nishikanta's character should be played by someone else. Rudranil must stop acting. He has been playing every character with a same flavour now. He must understand that Feluda series is not bibaho ovijan. His overacting drags down the rating of the entire series.

Decent series getting unnecessary flak from loyal fanbase
sarthakghosh-0843513 May 2023
It's a decent series. Lot of criticism stems from loyal but a deeply sensitive fanbase who find it difficult to digest changes in how Feluda is portrayed. There are some weakness in direction and there is a certain 'unfinished edges' feel to it but still this is a step in right direction. Right now there are 3 different Feluda production going on! None of them are really of high quality but for what it is worth this one seems to the best among the three. The first 2/3 episodes may seem somewhat disappointing, the dialogues, the casting ,...but after the initial hurdle the show actually starts to deliver. For the loyal fanbase I can only say stick with it for a few episodes you actually might start enjoying and for the uninitiated or casual viewer there is nothing to worry, simply go for it!

Mr Sandeep Ray must review his decision of selling rights of Maestro's works
drdkundu14 May 2023
For Sabash Feluda, nothing is there to say 'Sabash', its a rape of classic Ray story, Parambrata tried his best, but his look doesnt go with this iconic character. If one compares with Soumitra Chatterjee, Sabayasachi Chakraborty or even the newest Tota Roychowdhury, he will be frustrated. Same applies for Indraneil Sengupta , even although presented by the Maestro's son. The Director and or scriptwriter tried to present Feluda as an avatar of Bond, failed drastically. Rudranil tried to overact but failed to deliver humor, as it seems for comic relief this character has been introduced. The the scriptwriters (Padmanabha Dasgupta and Arindam Sil) tried to cook rashmi Kabab but ended in making uncooked tandoori . I wonder, why Mr Arindam Sil is not writing his own thriller story for such experiments!. The only thing deserves mention is recreated theme music by Bikram Ghosh. Mr Sandeep Ray must keep certain conditions before selling rights to some A B C s who have no respect for the Maestro, only means business.

It is a modern twist on a familiar story. ...
yashhraaj1 June 2023
Shabash Feluda is a Bengali thriller web series that was released on Zee5 on 5th May 2023. The series is based on the iconic character Feluda, created by Satyajit Ray. Feluda is a private investigator who solves mysteries with the help of his cousin Topshe.

The series is set in Gangtok, Sikkim. Feluda and Topshe are on a family vacation when they are approached by Sasadhar Bose, a businessman who asks them to investigate the death of his business partner. The death appears to be an accident, but Feluda soon realizes that there is more to the story.

As Feluda and Topshe investigate, they uncover a complex web of deceit, betrayal, and murder. The series is full of suspense and intrigue, and it will keep you guessing until the very end.

The acting in the series is top-notch. Parambrata Chatterjee is excellent as Feluda. He brings the character to life with his intelligence, wit, and charm. Rwitobroto Mukherjee is also great as Topshe. He is the perfect foil for Feluda, and he brings a lot of energy to the role.

The direction of the series is also excellent. Arindam Sil does a great job of bringing the story to life. He creates a sense of suspense and intrigue that will keep you hooked from beginning to end.

Overall, Shabash Feluda is a great web series. It is a modern twist on a familiar story, and it is full of suspense, intrigue, and excellent acting. If you are a fan of Feluda or mystery thrillers, then you will definitely enjoy this series.

Here are some additional details about the series:

1. The series is directed by Arindam Sil, who has also directed several other Bengali films, including the Feluda films Badshahi Angti (2014) and Double Feluda (2017).

2. The series stars Parambrata Chatterjee as Feluda, Rwitobroto Mukherjee as Topshe, Ritwick Chakraborty as Sasadhar Bose, Sauraseni Maitra as Rinchen Ganpo, and Rudranil Ghosh as Nishikanta Sarkar.

3. The series is based on the Feluda story "Gangtok Gondogol" by Satyajit Ray.

4. The series was filmed in Gangtok, Sikkim.

If you are looking for a great mystery thriller to watch, then I highly recommend Shabash Feluda. This is a modern take on a classic tale, with plenty of suspense, intrigue, and great acting. You won't be disappointed.

Most horrible Feluda ever
jatiarindam14 May 2023
  • Feluda's screen presence should bring cheer and confidence to the audience...This time it was a disappointing experience. Parambrata is a great actor! Don't know what happened. Every time Feluda was appearing on the screen, it was so disappointing to watch him.

  • Why is Feluda constantly insulting Topshe? The entire Feluda-Topshe chemistry is lost.

  • Dr. Baidya's dubbing can be recognized from the first scene (confirmed with people who have not read the story)

  • Feluda not smiling while meeting new people, is something not Feluda-like at all. He is disgusted with Nishikanta's appearance -- is never Feluda-like.

  • What's the point of the all the Mumbai-based scenes?

  • Dialogues are so cliche, boring, and disappointing

  • Why were the police send as criminals? They can interrogate Feluda directly.

  • Worst Maganlal ever. Accent!!

  • Nishikanta's overacting is extremely irritating. Spoiled a lot of scenes.

  • The last fighting scene is funny. After consuming 9 horrible episodes, it was actually funny to watch bot-like people with guns, firing, and dying.

  • Lots of Feludas are being made nowadays, but this was something very poor, extremely bad screenplay, horrific and sometime cheesy dialogues, overacting, unnecessary and pointless scenes, lost "who done it" flavor, slow, boring, and not enjoyable at all.

Shabash Feluda is an interesting watch
aninditadattac12 May 2023
I liked watching this show because it is a fresh take on our childhood hero Feluda. I believe there's a lot of courage in going out with this show and kudos for that.

Parambrata is probably the best Feluda after Soumitra.

Also, being a Bengali myself I know the challenges of touching Ray's work, even if that's an attempt to keep the characters moving with time.

However will it help us if we know that Ray himself thought of casting Mr. Bachhan as Feluda?

Yes. Maybe this could have been even better. But why would we react so violent? Why are we so closed? Is it because we have only nostalgia to hold on too??

Hotash Feluda
iknafilms9 May 2023
This series has really missed the mark with its casting, every actor seems to be miscast. The drama and thrilling moments feel forced and lackluster, and the addition of new characters not present in the original book doesn't improve the situation. Despite adding interesting characters, the director fails to connect the plot points, resulting in a boring series from the start. While modernizing old Feluda stories is a good idea, the series fails to comment on or portray any current trends, and simply using smartphones and modern clothing doesn't make it relevant. Overall, this attempt falls flat and is not worth your time.

Enjoyable!! Awesome direction and acting!!

Web series review for my bong friends: Shabash Feluda streaming on Zee5 #sanjuzzreviews #ShabashFeluda #ZEE5 #ErporKi #satyajitrayfans #SatyajitRay #parmabratachatterjee #ArindamSil Starring Parmabrata Chatterjee, Ritwick Chakraborty, Rudraneil Ghosh, Rwitobroto Mukherjee, Sauraseni Maitra and directed by acclaimed Bengali director Arindam Sil Shabash Feluda is all about reliving the genius of Satyajit Ray.

This series is more about enjoying the journey rather than guessing who the villian actually is . Most of us who are familiar with feluda can easily guess what the whole plot is about , but what sets this series apart is the brilliant starcast and direction . Cinematography too is worth a mention.

Feluda and Topshe who are on a vacation to Sikkim find themselves investigating the murder of a business man. However things are more complicated as it involves a stolen Tibetan idol " Yamantaka" and also some dangerous drug smugglers.

A subtle mention about MM ( Feluda fans will know about it 🙂) goes to say that we'll definitely see a few more stories in this franchise in the days to come.

This series will definitely appeal to die hard afficianado's of this genre and brilliance of Pradosh C Mitter and the lovable Topshe .

Go for it !!! I enjoyed it immensely!!

Going with 3.5/5 .. adios 🙂👍

This series will not be very acceptable to those who are used to watching old Feluda.
rajmakoley6 May 2023
Feluda is a most popular character in detective story. It is written by The Great Satyajit Ray. 'Sabash Feluda' is taken from the Feluda Series's story 'Gangtok e Gondogol'.

This series is directed by Arindam Sil. However, he has adopted the story of this series somewhat in his own way. Needless to say, his direction remains somewhat flawed. The audience can't really feel the clutter. There are 10 episodes in this series. While watching this series, the audience sometimes feel bored.

Nothing else to say about Screenplay. It's mostly the same between the real story and the series. Music composed by Bikram Ghosh. His music is not bad in the whole series.

Talking about performances, Parambrata Chattopadhyay portrays the 'Feluda' character and Rwitobroto Mukherjee portrays the 'Topse' character. These two are the main character in the Feluda Series. But both of the actors did not like this role. Ritwik Chakraborty (Sashadhar Bose) and Rudronil Ghosh (Nishikanto Sarkar) acted too good. In a small roll Arindam Sil (Shivkumar Selvankar) and Kamaleshwar Mukherjee (Mohandad Mehta) is very well. Others cast are average.

Finally, this series will not be very acceptable to those who are used to watching old Feluda.

Shabash Feluda
Old Wine in a New Bottle.

Thoroughly enjoyed this series. A gripping storyline, well directed Feluda movie. Way way better than Srijit Mukherjee's Feluda. After a long time I enjoyed watching Feluda.

Last but not the least, it's important to remember "Leaving The Old Living The New ".

As 90's kid, it will be tough to fall with this Feluda. But recently, lot of attempts were made by quite few directors and they felt pretty flat. This one, however, won my heart. A good gripping story, with a good outdoor shooting, nice location, good vfx, good ensemble of cast. The only thing I felt missing is a song, a BGM.

Absolutely Rubbish
backtoyouanirban6 May 2023
Started watching with much expectations considering Feluda has always been a fascinating character since childhood. Very upset to say that , am utterly disappointed with this presentation, I had to take 3 breaks to complete the series, not because of time but was getting bored. I ll not get into detail but it's a disaster in every aspect. I think people should think 100 times before experimenting with such iconic character...the most disgusting was character of nishikanto Babu, copied exact mannerism of lalmohan Babu in sonar kella, was it even required. Not worth a watch atleast for the people who has read or atleast seen the old ones !!!

Loved every bit of it! Sabash Arindam Shil
arpitadasgupta1818 May 2023
I was apprehensive before watching. Initially I didn't liked the idea of Param as Feluda.

But as I started watching.. it felt nostalgic.. elegant... the essence of Satyajit Ray and the intensity of Arindam Shil Thriller. Contemporary setup is perfect.

Currently watching through the 6th episode. And I must say Rudranil Ghosh is brilliant. He is a great actor but severely underused. Rest of the cast is also good. Specially Param as Feluda. As the show progresses you will be accepting him more. He is different and totally justifies his selection!

I recommend you watch it without expectations and without comparing with Sabyasachi Chakraborty or the legendary Soumitra Chatterjee.

It is a visual treat as well with beautiful Gangtok as the background.

This Pure Bengali thriller needs more seasons.

And I must say Sabash Arindam Shil for being brave enough to give us this new fast paced Feluda thriller where the soul remains same.

Is feluda a joke to you?
Feluda ia an emotion, feluda is an inspiration, but no days directors like sil and actors like param take it a joke. Oh sorry I think we are the jokers.

Everything is out of place in this series. No actual connection, no soul? The writing is just trash, the cinematography is trash, the performance is just bad bad so bad unwatchable and the music oh my god, this is bikram ghosh? He is a great musician but this is trash sir. Please stop this nonsense.

Stop making this type of soulless series. Sandip ray surely love money so much that's why he permits this marvellous stories legendary stories to this kind of making.

Open letter sir please don't destroy our feluda. Please it's a humble request.

Bekar Feluda - worst possible movie one can make.
nilenduganguly30 May 2023
Worst Feluda ever made and worst movie ever made by Arindam Sil. The cast is bekar, script is worst, melodramatic and idiotic Rudranil intolerable, peculiar and queer change of plot , poorest direction and full of errors. Parambrata Chatterjee is a great actor , but here he is simple not fitting in the role of the tall ,sharp , witty character of Feluda.

And finally the music - just intolerable. How can drumbeats be a background score when a detective is thinking hard on his clues - just nonsense.

Could withstand upto the 6th episode and then gave up patience.

Simple murder of one of the best Feluda stories.

I also blame Mr. Sandip Ray. He should think twice to grant and sell movie rights to selective people only and not any Tom, Dick , Harry. Otherwise we have to withstand such horrible massacre of such great stories.

Decent watch
royroyamitamit12 May 2023
I am not writing that it's a bad Feluda series. Honestly said it was a decent series. Although could have been a gr8 one. Thrilling portion was I believe not up to the mark. As FELUDA is a nostalgic for every bengali viewer we expected a bit more ..... nevertheless a good watch. Arindam Sil is smart director especially in thriller genre. I am disappointed with Hrithhik Chakraborty's character. It was too flat. He is such a fine actor we have seen in many films. Humor portion is ok. Rudranil Does his part. I expect a better background score as well. Hope to a see a better viewing experience next time.
