The Morgans are a renowned fishing family in Shipton Abbott. So the local community is shocked when the family matriarch Maisie Morgan jumped overboard from a fishing trawler out at sea.

DI Humphrey Goodman and DS Esther Williams see nothing that points to foul play. Although some fingerprints of Maisie on the boat leaves them puzzled.
I did think that the suicide was staged. So the fun was trying to find out how it was all done.
Even then the mystery was more interesting than the fostering story. Who would have thought a boat might not be a suitable place for a foster kid!
