Last week here I wrote about the Kickstarter that’s currently running for Unmasked Volume 2. It’s still going strong, so check it out if you haven’t yet.
This week is all about the Meatspace Universe Omnibus Collection on Kickstarter. It’s a video game revenge thriller in a cyberpunk setting written by Josh Gorfain with various artists including Andrew MacLean. This Kickstarter will be funding an ambitious expansion of the Meatspace-Verse including a prequel volume and a sequel volume illustrated by one of my favorite artists, Sean Von Gorman. They currently have a little under three weeks to raise another $12,000 to reach their goal.
I got the chance to chat with Sean and Josh about this Kickstarter the other which you can read below.
Joe: Sean, Josh, what are your elevator pitches for Meatspace Volume 2?

President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama went out with a bang at their last Halloween party in the White House.
On Monday, the couple welcomed 4,000 people -- which mostly included students from elementary schools and military families -- to the South Lawn for a bit of trick-or-treating. A high moment of the party came when the Obamas proved that they're still the coolest couple by dancing to Michael Jackson's "Thriller."

"You guys all look scary, or cool, or whatever you're trying to be," the commander in chief joked with the kids in costume, USA Today reports. "We hope, parents, that on this day at least, you don't have to pay attention to Michelle and healthy eating."

"Candy for everybody!" Michelle quipped.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump flatly denied Friday that he posed as his own spokesman during a June 26, 1991, phone call to then-people reporter Sue Carswell - a phone interview that Carswell taped at the time. When she played the recording for friends of Trump and his then-girlfriend, Marla Maples, they were unanimous: the voice was Trump's own, a ruse that Carswell noted in her story for the July 8, 1991, issue of People.By the time People was putting its July 22, 1991, issue together, Trump had called Carswell to confess that he was, in fact, the so-called John Miller who called a couple weeks earlier.

Donald Trump adamantly denied ever posing as his own spokesperson on Friday, but the presumptive Gop nominee told People a different story in 1991. The businessman insisted on Today that a newly surfaced recording that sounds like him acting as a Trump publicist was "one of the many scams," noting, "I have many, many people that are trying to imitate my voice." Amid his divorce from wife Ivana Trump and eventual engagement to Marla Maples, however, it appears that Trump did make at least one call as a man named John Miller in the early '90s. Hindsight always offers the best perspective. After coming in second place in Monday night's Iowa caucuses, Donald Trump is admitting that skipping the last Gop debate could have played a part in his results, according to the Hollywood Reporter. "I think it could have been the debate," the billionaire businessman said during a news conference on Tuesday. "I think some people were disappointed I didn't go in the debate." Despite his admission, Trump still said he wouldn't have changed his decision to host a veteran's fundraiser in lieu of attending the event, which would have been moderated by his longtime foe Megyn Kelly.

Donald Trump fans will miss the Republican presidential candidate at the next Gop debate.
According to CNN, Trump's campaign manager Corey Lewandowski told reporters on Tuesday that the billionaire businessman will not be in attendance on Thursday night as the other candidates go head to head on Fox.
"It's not under negotiation," Lewandowski said. "We'll have an event here in Iowa with potentially another network, to raise money for wounded warriors. And Fox will go from probably having 24 million viewers to about 2 million."

Receiving its North American premiere last spring at the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival, where it snagged a Best Actress award for Valeria Bruni-Tedeschi, Paolo Virzi’s Human Capital was Italy’s submission for this year’s Best Foreign Language contender. Ultimately it wasn’t selected for a nomination, even though its considerable critical acclaim made it a wise choice (in 2014, Paolo Sorrentino’s sublime The Great Beauty took home the award, but Virzi beat out Sorrentino for Best Film on home turf), as Virzi’s familial drama is an expertly paced dramatic thriller crafted around what could easily been a generic narrative. Meanwhile, the momentum behind the film has instigated a reunion of Virzi with Bruni-Tedeschi for his next feature, even if its box office success wasn’t replicated after it reached Us theaters. A well-paced and engaging thriller, Virzi’s film is a triptych of perspective-based characterizations coalescing into an...

SNL. Saturday Night Live. The place where comedy and comedians make it. Just like the city it quintessentially represents, if you can make it there, you can make it anywhere.
And we have forty years to look at. As you might have seen, SNL is turning forty this weekend, and what better way to celebrate than to get the whole gang back together and make it a night that will go down in the history books? Anyone who’s anyone is going to the reunion (well, that is anyone besides Eddie Murphy of course) and it’s sure to bring back everything that made the show what it is today.
So here we look at some of the best sketches that has ever graced our eyes thanks to Lorne Michael’s marvelous show filler for Johnny Carson. (That’s right- the whole reason the show exists is because Carson wanted...
