"Lost in Translation (Part 1: Plus Ultra)" is a 6-minute computer animated work in progress, with music by Robert Moss, and produced in association with the Australian Film Commission. It was shown in 1999 in Karlsruhe (Germany), Sydney (Australia), and Brazil. "The double movement of displacement and circulation, loss and regeneration, constitutes a means of uncovering the disjunction between history and memory [in Latin America]." - Art historian and writer on contemporary and postwar art Dr. Charles Merewether; "This work attempts to syncretically avaunt the 'borders of identity' in an anti-historical reconstruction of 'Brazil'." - Artist Peter Callas.
