- TriviaJohn Gary performed "The Party is Over" and "You Are So Beautiful." Jose Melis played "Summertime in Venise." Oakland Tribune newspaper reporter Bill Fiset reviewed this program the next day and wrote, "The show has never been funnier or better. Jack Paar said that Red Skelton appeared despite protest from CBS and Paar thanked him for this." Skelton did a pantomime of a man visiting the Eiffel Tower with his wife, winding up taking her picture on the top of the tower and insisting that she keep moving further back from the camera , until - as you guessed - he kept her moving "too far back" - was one of the cleverest bits ever done by any comic.
- Quotes
Red Skelton: [Commenting About His Appearance Despite CBS Protest] "I saw a great industry called motion pictures almost destroy itself because of jealousy. I don't think the networks have any rivalry whatsoever, or they shouldn't have. Television is actually in its infancy. I believe that with these quiz show things and the payola stuff, this little infant has had its first spanking."
