[Rick and Carol find a young couple hiding upstairs in a house]
Sam : [Sam nervously chuckles] Whoa, whoa. It's cool. We're... we're cool.
Ana : We have fruit.
Sam : Yeah, we got apricots, peaches. Here, catch.
Sam : [Sam tosses a peach down the stairs to Rick who doesn't catch it] Or, you know, don't.
[Sam nervously chuckles]

[Carol examines Sam's shoulder]
Carol Peletier : How'd this happen?
Sam : Greenhouse around the corner.
Ana : We were looking for a place to crash. The roof's broken now and it's been getting rain, so it's full of fruit. We were there about a day and the skin-eaters showed up.
Sam : [Sam chuckles] Killjoys, man. Jackin' it up for the whole world. I thought everybody was an asshole before this all went down. Now I love people. You know... people who are alive.

[Sam and Ana tell Rick and Carol about how long they were hiding in the upstairs bathroom]
Rick Grimes : So how long were you up there till we showed up?
Sam : Like, two days.
Carol Peletier : There was just one. You had guns.
Ana : [Ana chuckles] We have about 12 bullets. It usually takes us about five or six to bring one of them down.
Carol Peletier : But you have knives.
Sam : [Sam nervously chuckles] To what, stab it in the head?
Carol Peletier : Yeah.

[Ana tells Rick how her and Sam first met]
Ana : We were at a refugee center together and there was a fire. People were just trampling over me.
Sam : [Sam chuckles] Assholes.
Ana : Sam saved my life. We didn't know each other before. It didn't heal right, but it healed. And we found each other. It was worth it.
Rick Grimes : [the two smile alongside one another] Where are you two headed next?
Sam : We just keep moving. We haven't been waiting for places to go bad. I mean, it's getting a little old.
[Sam chuckles]

[Rick tells Sam and Ana about the prison]
Sam : [Sam smiles] So, did we pass your test?
Rick Grimes : We're in a prison eight miles north. If you come back with us, we can't guarantee your safety. There's an illness, a flu. It's bad.
Carol Peletier : We've lost a lot. Kids, too.
Ana : [Ana looks to Carol] Yours?
Carol Peletier : No, thank God. But one of my girls, she's got it.
