In this, the pilot episode for the series, I sit down with my dearest test subject... my husband, Scott Tundermann. He has long said to me that he doesn't like Mike Myers films, and while I understood where he was coming from- I have always been a fan of the film So I Married an Axe Murderer since I was a young kid. My sister and I would quote the lines at each other, often just screaming "MOVE HEEED" , but would it hold up? Join me in our first episode where we will first discuss the film, put it in context of when it came out, and get an idea about why Scott thinks he might not like this film. Then we'll break and watch the film. After which we will return to see if Scott came around to enjoying the flavour Mike Myers adds to something, or if I am high on the nostalgia of a 90s film from my youth?

Today is going to be a little bit of a format break- which is hilarious because this is episode three so our format is still developing. Nonetheless, this week is a kind of a "pre-show teaser" for tomorrow night's (1/2/24) LIVE Movie Night Extravaganza. For those of you who don't know, Movie Night Extravaganza is a live podcast on Youtube, that talks about movies etc weekly. I'm a frequent guest - so I'm definitely biased and love the show and the crew over there. They found out that despite being a "normal" human adult, I have not seen in its entirety the American film classic, The Wizard of Oz. Since they are all big fans of the movie, and have seen it as children, they were curious to see how it is to watch this as an adult without any real "nostalgia" for the film. Since I'm secretly unsure I'll like the film and host a podcast called "What If I Don't Like It? I was curious to explore the concept of possibly disliking a film that all your friends REALLY like. Forrest Miller, co-host and co-creator of Movie Night Extravaganza joins me to discuss his love of the film, and to help put it in the context of when it came out and why it's an important/influential film that is worth taking a gamble on and watching, even if I'm not very "young at heart." However, unlike previous episodes this is a CROSSOVER. To find out if I DID like the film - or didn't - you're going to have to tune in to Movie Night Extravaganza's first episode of the year - 1/2/24either LIVE on Youtube, or streaming afterwards on multiple platforms including Apple and Spotify.
